음악교육이 인격형성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 유아기 음악교육을 중심으로 = A Study about Impacts of Music Education on the Character Building

Music is one of the cultural tools to communicate one's emotions and feelings with others that also take a cultural role to make a life harmoniously utilizing the beauty of sound and tone.
The purpose of musical education is to contribute the formation of one's personality with much appropriate ways and to increase the qualify of one's life itself.
The musical education to the childhood, in particular, can be an emotional foundation and stepping stone for children's emotional development, it is desirable to initiate the musical education to them at their early stage.
This research is focused on the theme as how musical education can influence on the personality development stressing on the childhood.

The big frame of this study consists of three research assumptions.
1) Musical education during the childhood can be appropriate era to promote the maximum level of children's emotional developments expressing their creativities and abilities.
2) Musical education during the childhood is one of the most significant topics in the study area of education as a way of building up human characters, which ultimately lead a person to feel and love the music in his/her life afterward.
3) Musical education during the childhood is a perfect timing to develop their musical talents and abilities.
Most musical educational methodologies currently used, however, failed to provide children with much creative opportunities to lead and promote self-motivation based educational activities.
Therefore, this research suggests that the aim of musical education during the childhood should be to develop various educational contents and teaching methodologies to enhance children's understand the essence and concept of music.
By doing so, music can be a part of children's everyday life influencing their personality developments with more properly oriented directions.
Under the recognition of this, the educational course development for the era of childhood can be successfully established.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

음악은 인간의 감정과 정서를 표현하는 수단이 되며 음의 아름다움을 통하여 인간의 생활을 폭넓고 아름답게 하는 역할을 한다.
음악교육은 음악을 통한 인간교육으로서 인간의 삶의 질을 높이고 이를 통해 바람직한 인격을 형성 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 특히 유아기의 음악교육은 인격형성의 기초가 되므로 이 시기에 이루어지는 것이 바람직하다.
이에 본 연구에서는 인간의 인격형성에 음악이 어떤 영향을 미칠 수 있는지를 다루었다.
첫째, 유아기 음악교육은 자기표현의 창조적인 경험과 능력을 최대한 발전 시킬 수 있는 적절한 시기이다.
둘째, 유아기 음악교육은 음악을 생활화하기 위한 인간교육으로써 중요한 주제이고 일생동안 음악을 느끼고 사랑하게 만든다.
셋째, 유아기 음악교육은 음악적 능력발견의 최적시기이다.
그러나 현재의 교육방법들은 획일적이고 주입식의 지도를 하고 있기 때문에 유아들의 창의적 자기표현의 활동을 계발할 수 있는 기회가 제공되지 못하고 있다. 따라서 앞으로 유아기 음악교육이 지향해야 할 목표는 다양한 학습내용과 지도방법을 계발하여 유아들로 하여금 음악의 본질과 개념을 이해하도록 도와줌으로써 다양한 음악의 장르를 경험하게 하고 유아 스스로가 음악을 생활화 하도록 유도하여 바람직한 인격형성에 영향을 주어야 한다.
이러한 인식의 전제 위에서만 유아기 음악교육을 위한 교육 과정도 올바르게 나아갈 수 있다고 기대해본다.
