天綱 袁守成의 命理思想에 관한 연구 = (A) study on Myungri ideology of Chun-Gang, Won, Su-Sung

In these days, among methods of making judgment of good luck, bad luck, fortune, and misfortune of people in Korea, Saju-Myungri is a typical one. Saju/four pillars means the year, month, day, and time of one's birth. Saju-Myungri is also called as Myungri in a short form.
Saju-Myungri is a science to understand and find out one's life who lives at ‘present’ ‘now’ ‘here’ in the world through sciences. In addition, Saju-Myungri is a prediction science of Myung/life of people which is acquired by observing the period of the nature. Just like hypotheses and predictions for the future such as weather prediction, stock prediction, and diseases prediction, Myungri is also one kind of these prediction sciences. This lets us know that Saju-Myungri has the characteristics of humanism with object of modern time. And Myungri science, which predicts good luck, bad luck, fortune, and misfortune of people, is settled widely and deeply as one form of our social culture and therefore, it is sufficiently worthwhile to study.
History of the science of Saju-Myungri can be traced back to the period of Dang and Su dynasties and Saju/four pillars had the similar forms and theories like today's Saju-Myungri. In addition, looking at ancient Chinese literatures, it is estimated that there was uterus of Saju-Myungri already in the period of Chunchu JeonGuk/Spring autumn wars period. All techniques including Saju-Myungri are one of the most important forms of the ancient Chinese culture.
This thesis is a study about Myungri science of Won, Chun-Gang and Myungri ideology of Won, Chun-Gang. And the edition this thesis mainly quotes is an old book of Myungri science of 『Won, Chun-Gang Osungsammyungjinam』and it is called as 『Won, Chun-Gang』in a short form.
『Won, Chun-Gang』was a Myungri book during Joseon period in which people had memorized at Gwansanggam/cosmology office for the classical government examination system. It was estimated that this had affected a significant impacts on Myungri science of our people throughout the entire period of Joseon. In reality, looking at 『Actual records of history of Joseon Kingdom』and『Diary of Seungjeongwon/Royal secretariat office,』through reigns of various kings from King, Sejong in the early period and King, Gojong during the end period of Joseon, 『Won, Chun-Gang』 was a text book of life science and also was a course of classical government examination system.
Also 『Won, Chun-Gang』is important data as one of originators of today's Saju-Myungri science. Therefore, in order to study Saju-Myungri science correctly, study on 『Won, Chun-Gang』which is an early theoretical book and Myungri ideology of Won, Chun-Gang must be carried out first.
Study methods were largely divided into two directions. First, theory of Myungri appeared in『Won, Chun-Gang』was examined and based on that, a study on Myungri ideology of Won, Chun-Gang was attempted. For this end, first, 『Won, Chun-Gang』was intensively analyzed and examined and Myungri theories appearing in 『Won, Chun-Gang』were largely composed of cosmology․calendar, Ganji, and Yin Yang Five Elements of Chinese Cosmogony.
Cosmology was a science of emperors in the ancient time and calendar based on science of cosmology was one of the most important fields in the period when agriculture was considered as important. And in the ancient time, relationships between astronomy․calendar and cosmology were unseparable. So in astronomy․calendar, parts related to Won, Chun-Gang Myungri were intensively examined. Also, Ganji and Yin Yang Five Elements of Cinese Cosmogony, which were theories and elements of composition of Won, Chun-Gang Myungri, were researched.
And based on a study on Myungri theory of『Won, Chun-Gang,』 Won, Chun-Gang Myungri ideology was examined. In here, Myung mentioned in Won, Chun-Gang Myungri and Myung and human nature mentioned in Confucianism, Myungri and Seongri/human nature were compared and analyzed training of heart and training of Myung were examined. In addition, Junghwa/China is the center, which was considered as the most important in Myungri, was also examined. Junghwa/China is the center is considered as the most important not only in Myungri but also in Confucian ideology. So, it was tried to verify that Myungri and Confucianism have the same in ways of life each pursues. And furthermore, Myung pursued in Won, Chun-Gang Myungri is not accepted as a destiny passively but it is positive and aggressive and it was found out that people need necessary efforts and training of minds for achieving them. And also impacts and problems which Won, Chun-Gang Myungri had influenced Saju-Myungri in later period were analyzed.
