These studies have been done to analyze the effect of eating habits and oral health practices of the elders on their oral conditions. The 150 aged were intentionally selected among the people over age 65 who were living at Sungjoo-Gun and Waegwan-Eup and the survey was executed from December 23th, 2008 to March 10th, 2009. The survey was executed by man to man interview using the interview paper to study the oral conditions, eating habits and overall health conditions. Statistics analyses including frequency analysis, cross analysis, dispersion analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were done using SPSS/WIN Program (ver 17.0). Followings are the results of this study.
1. The elders with ages over 80 are rated 30% (45 people), ages 75~79 rated 26.7% (40 people), ages 70~74 rated 24% (36 people), and ages 65~69 rated 19.3% (29 people).
2. The elders who had regular oral inspections, those who had more frequent teeth brushing and those who used a variety of tooth pastes that had a specific function, had a superior objective and subjective oral condition.
3. The elders who had regular eating, those who had every breakfast, those who had every three meals, those who had spicy fermentation foods, those who had more fermentation foods like kimchi or soybean paste, those who had cucumber kimchi or pickled young radishes every meals and those who had more side dishes, had a superior objective and subjective oral condition.
4. The elders who had regular eating, those who had every breakfast, those who had every three meals, those who had spicy fermentation foods, those who had more fermentation foods like kimchi or soybean paste, those who had cucumber kimchi or pickled young radishes every meals and those who had more side dishes, had a superior subjective overall health condition.
5. The elders who had more frequent teeth brushing, those who used a variety of tooth pastes that had a specific function, those who had regular eating and those who had spicy fermentation foods had a superior objective oral condition.
