국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대구시 소재 아동양육시설 9개소에서 생활하고 있는 중고등학생 청소년들과 경북에 소재하고 있는 아동양육시설 3곳을 조사대상으로 선정하여, 아동양육시설청소년에 대한 친구, 생활지도원, 학교 교사에 의한 사회적 지지와 아동양육시설청소년의 자아존중감 및 자립과의 영향관계를 실증적으로 규명하고, 아동양육시설청소년의 사회적 지지 수준이 아동양육시설청소년의 자립에 미치는 영향검증과 아동양육시설청소년의 자립 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있으며, 본 연구의 주요결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 아동양육시설청소년의 사회적 지지와 자아존중감 및 자립에 대한 일반적 경향을 알아보기 위해 평균을 산출해 본 결과, 아동양육시설청소년의 사회적 지지는 보통 이상의 수준인 것으로 나타났으며, 자아존중감의 경우는, 보통 수준을 보였고 자립심도 보통 수준은 되는 것으로 분석되었다.
둘째, 아동양육시설청소년의 사회적 지지 수준이 아동양육시설청소년의 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 검증한 결과, 아동양육시설청소년에 대한 친구의 지지는 자아존중감에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나므로 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있다.
셋째, 아동양육시설청소년에 대한 생활지도원의 지지는 아동양육시설청소년의 자아존중감에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나므로 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다.
넷째, 아동양육시설청소년의 사회적 지지 수준이 아동양육시설청소년의 자립에 미치는 영향을 검증한 결과, 아동양육시설청소년에 대한 친구의 지지는 아동양육시설청소년의 자립을 높이는데 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음이 파악되었다.
다섯째, 아동양육시설청소년의 자아존중감 수준이 아동양육시설청소년의 자립에 미치는 영향을 검증한 결과, 아동양육시설청소년의 자립에 매우 높은 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나므로, 아동양육시설청소년의 자아존중감은 자립에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있음을 파악할 수 있었다.
여섯째, 아동양육시설에 있어서 생활지도원과의 애착과 친밀한 관계는 아동양육시설청소년의 자립에 긍정적인 영향을 미침을 파악할 수 있었다.
이러한 결과를 토대로 본 논문은 다음과 같은 몇 가지 사회복지적 함의를 도출하였다.
첫째, 어릴 때부터 독립심· 자립심을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육이 필요하다.
둘째, 아동양육시설청소년들의 자립능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 형식적인 교육을 배제해야 하며, 자립프로그램 전담요원을 통한 전문화 된 프로그램이 제공되어야 하고, 체계적·지속적으로 실시되어야 한다. 이를 위해서는 적절한 사전사후 평가를 통해 반영해 나간다면 보다 더 진취적인 교육이 이뤄질 것이다.
셋째, 올바른 직업관 확립과 직업에 대한 구체적이고 세부적인 교육, 현장 방문을 통한 생생한 체험학습적 교육의 도입과 시행이 시급하다.
넷째, 학교 적응력과 학업 성적이 높은 학생일수록 자아존중감과 자립에 대한 의지도 높게 나타나므로 아동양육시설청소년들의 성적을 더 높일 수 있도록 적극적인 학습지원을 해 주어야 할 것이다. 이를 위해서 학원수강, 학습 멘토나 학습자원봉사자들을 적극적으로 알선하고 결연해 주므로 실력 향상을 도모해 주어야 할 것이다.
다섯째, 자기가 맡은 일에 대한 책임성을 부여해 주고 습성이 되어 장차 사회에 나가서도 책임감 있게 행동하도록 지도해야 할 것이다.
여섯째, 아동양육시설청소년의 주변에 있는 아동양육시설 종사자들과 학교 교사, 친구 등 주변인들은 아동양육시설청소년들의 자아존중감을 높일 수 있는 방향으로 그들을 유도하고 늘 칭찬과 격려를 아끼지 않는 적극적인 지지자가 되어 주어 그들이 긍지를 가지고 세상을 향해 나아갈 수 있는 발판을 마련해 주어야 할 것이다.
끝으로 향후 보다 세부적인 후속 연구를 통해 아동양육시설청소년들의 자립방안모색을 위한 깊은 관심과 배려가 이뤄져야 할 것이다.
