뮤지컬 빨래의 제작 과정 분석을 통해 본 소극장 뮤지컬의 제작모델 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 뮤지컬 「빨래」의 제작과정 분석을 통하여 소극장 뮤지컬의 제작모델을 연구하고자 하였다. 서론에서는 현재 한국 뮤지컬 산업의 현황을 분석하여 여러 가지 문제점을 파악하였고 그에 따른 해결방안을 찾아보았다. 그리고 소극장의 역사를 통해 소극장 정신이 무엇인지 그것이 현재에 와서는 어떤 의미가 있는지 연구하였으며 소극장 뮤지컬 제작에 따른 여러 가지 어려움 중 현재 소극장 밀집지역인 대학로 소극장의 문제점을 파악하여 그 해결방안과 왜 소극장에서 뮤지컬을 제작하는 것이 중요한지 그 의의에 대하여 논하였다.
본론에 앞서 뮤지컬 「빨래」를 제작부터 기획까지 해온 명랑씨어터 수박의 운영시스템에 대하여 논하였다. 동인제 시스템과 프러듀서 시스템에 대한 이해를 위하여 한국의 동인제 극단의 역사에 대한 고찰을 하였고 명랑씨어터 수박의 운영시스템이 현재까지 어떻게 운영되어 왔으며 이러한 운영시스템이 소극장에서 뮤지컬을 제작하기에 적절한 운영시스템인지 논하였다.
본론에서는 뮤지컬 「빨래」의 프러덕션별 제작과정 중에서 필자가 프러듀서로 제작에 참여하면서 상황에 따라 고민하고 중요했던 부분에 대해 시간의 흐름에 따라 프러덕션을 나누어 정리하였다.
마지막 결론에서는 서론의 소극장에서 뮤지컬 제작 의의와 본론에서 뮤지컬 「빨래」의 제작과정을 통해 새로운 제작 모델을 제시하고자 하였다. 그리고 이러한 모델이 소극장에서 뮤지컬을 제작하는 많은 예술단체에게 작게나마 도움이 되었으면 하는 바람으로 본 연구를 마치게 되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research article tried to understand the making process of al ittle theatre musical through the making of a musical called "Bbal Rae"(The Loundry). In the introduction of the article, it talks about the current status of Korean musical businesses and the problems that may arise from those types of businesses are addressed. By looking at the history of little theaters, the reasonable definition of the spirit of little theatre is revealed as well as what is the spirit of little theatre to the current musical industry. In addition, in the making of a little theater musical, musical producers may face various obstacles. Therefore, keeping in mind that there are many of those obstacles, the author decided to study the weakness/ problems of running Dae Hak Street Little Theatre and its solutions are tried to be addressed in this paper.
Before going into the body of the article, the author discussed about the making process of the musical “Bbal Rae"(The Loundry). how “Bbal Rae"(The Loundry) is designed/planned and made as a final musical. For the purpose of understanding group system and producer system, the history of Korea’s the group theatre is studied. Also, how Merry Theatre SooBak is operated and whether its system is adequate to produce a musical in a little theater setting.
In the body of the article, the author, also as the producer of this musical, organized the most critical moments involved in the production process of “Bbal Rae"(The Loundry) and sorted them by time of occurrence.
In conclusion, through reevaluating the meaning of running little theater musicals mentioned in the introduction of this paper and the making process of the musical “Bbal Rae"(The Loundry)the author tried to propose a production model. And lastly, with a hope that such production model might benefit many art groups as much as it can, the author finished the paper.
