As the collapse of family by rapid increase of divorcing rate and financial difficulties is more and more serious, grandparent-grandchild family is becoming a social issue. Generally, the infant of grandparent-grandchild family who can not live with the parents because of the various social problems is exposed to a lot of emotional and behavioral problems, has psychological-emotional problem and low cognitive-social capability, and experiences the behavioral disorders. In this situation, the fostering grandparent has difficulties psychologically and financially and can not keep their composure in the senescence.
The reasons that the infants are committed to grandfather or grandmother's care are mostly their parents' divorce, runaway, death and so on. The 20% of them are raised by grandparent from under 1 year of age and the 60% of them from under 5 years of age.
Fosterer's hearty love and concern are absolutely necessary to the infant who must take adult's enough care and support.
In this point of time, this paper deals with the importance of consistent fostering attitude based especially on object relations theory, investigates social-emotional influence of grandparent-grandchild family on the infant, and makes a comparative study with the infant in ordinary family.
In addition, this study helps grandparent-grandchild family and infant raised in the family in need of support and concern to establish healthier self-image.
