For the achievement of the purpose, this study held out the questions and hypothesis as below.
Question: Is integrated cooking activity influential on the young children's creativity?
Hypothesis: the point of creativity of the young children experienced integrated cooking activity would be higher compared with the young children without such experience.
Question 1: Is integrated cooking activity influential on the young children's fluency?
Hypothesis 1: the point of fluency of the young children experienced integrated cooking activity would be higher compared with the young children without such experience.
Question 2: Is integrated cooking activity influential on the young children's adaptability?
Hypothesis 2: the point of adaptability of the young children experienced integrated cooking activity would be higher compared with the young children without such experience.
Question 3: Is integrated cooling activity influential on the young children's originality?
Hypothesis 3: the point of originality of the young children experienced integrated cooking activity would be higher compared with the young children without such experience.
Question 4: Is integrated cooling activity influential on the young children's imagination?
Hypothesis 4: the point of imagination of the young children experienced integrated cooking activity would be higher compared with the young children without such experience.
The subjects of this study were 25 young children from S kindergarten and 25 young children from H kindergarten in Donjak-gu, Seoul city. The young children(14 boys, 11 girls) from the S kindergarten were set as the test group , and the young children(12 boys, 13 girls) from H kindergarten were set as the comparative group. In the test group, cooking activity were conducted for the young children once a week, total 14 times, and in the comparative group, the kindergarten life theme related activity were conducted for the young children without any cooking activity.
Korean Comprehensive Creativity Test for Young Children; K-CCTYC, developed by Jeon Kyeong Won(1999) was used as the study tool. The whole collected data were conversed into T point by the scoring standard of the test, and then conducted t-test by estimating M and SD using SPSS 12.0 statistical program.
The following are the results of this study.
First, the result of the analysis on the effect of integrated cooking activity on the young children's fluency showed effective increase in fluency.
Second, the result of the analysis on the effect of integrated cooking activity on the young children's adaptability showed effective increase in adaptability.
Third, the result of the analysis on the effect of integrated cooking activity on the young children's originality showed effective increase in originality.
Fourth, the result of the analysis on the effect of integrated cooking activity on the young children's imagination showed effective increase in imagination.
In conclusion, the creativity of the young children in the test group that conducted integrated cooking activity was greatly improved compared to pre test. Eventually, provided the young children's cooking activity should be connected to integrated cooking activity, they could do integrated thinking through direct various experiences, the effect of which is great on their creativity.
