중년여성의 외모지향성 및 외모평가와 피부건강관리태도에 대한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중년여성들의 아름다움에 대한 사회적 인식과 욕구를 파악하기 위해 외모지향성 및 외모평가가 피부건강관리태도에 미치는 영향을 분석해 봄으로써 중년여성들의 외모에 대한 관심도를 발견하고, 또한 미적 욕구를 좀 더 효과적으로 충족시킬 수 있는 기초자료로 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다.
연구방법은 설문지법을 이용하였으며 자료 수집은 대전․충남․충북지역의 35세-59세의 중년여성을 대상으로 2009년 9월 1일부터 2009년 9월 30일까지 350부를 배포하여 343부를 회수하였고 322부를 최종분석 자료로 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS WIN 17.0프로그램을 이용하여 평균, 표준편차, 신뢰도 검증을 위해 Cronbach' Alpha를 실시하였으며, 요인별 상관성을 알아보기 위해 피어슨 상관관계분석과 요인별 차이를 알아보기 위해 ANOVA를 실시하였다.
본 연구에서 나타난 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 외모지향성에 대한 평균은 3.54로 보통수준이었다. 일반적 특성에서는 전문기술직(3.78)과 미혼(3.75)이 다른 집단에 비해 외모지향성이 높게 나타났으며 건강관련특성에서는 건강에 대한 관심이(3.59) 있을수록 외모지향성을 높이 평가하고 있었다. 또한 피부건강에 대한 정보는 피부과의원(3.97)에서 가장 많이 습득하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 외모평가에 대한 평균은 3.09로 보통수준이었다. 일반적 특성에서는 대학원이상(3.26)의 학력에서, 전문기술직(3.78)에 종사하고 있는 여성들에게서, 그리고 월경상태가 규칙적(3.27)인 사람들에게서 외모평가 높게 나타났다. 또한 건강관련특성에서는 신체건강상태가 좋고(3.22) 피부건강상태도 좋을수록(3.28) 외모평가가 높게 나타났다.
셋째, 피부건강관리태도에 대한 평균은 3.94로 약간 높은 편이었다. 일반적 특성에서는 연령이 35-39세(3.99)가, 최종학력은 대학원이상(4.01)에서 피부건강관리태도가 높게 나타났고, 건강관련특성에서는 신체건강에 대한 관심이 많고(4.00) 피부건강상태가 좋을수록(4.06) 피부건강관리태도가 높게 나타났다. 또한 중년여성들은 피부건강에 대한 정보는 피부과의원(4.42)에서 가장 많이 습득하는 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 외모지향성과 외모평가가 피부건강관리태도에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과, 외모지향성과 외모평가는 피부건강관리태도와의 상관성이 정적인 관계로 매우 높게 나타났다.
이상으로 중년여성들의 학력, 직업, 피부건강상태, 신체건강상태 등은 외모지향성, 외모평가, 피부건강관리 태도에 많은 영향을 준다는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 외모지향성과 외모평가가 높을수록 피부건강관리태도도 높다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
이와 같이 외모와 피부건강관리태도와의 관련성을 밝힌 결과는 중년여성뿐만 아니라 사회생활을 하는 모든 이들의 이미지향상에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이며, 또한 외모에 대한 총체적 지식과 올바른 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is 1) to analysis the correlation between the appearance intention and the appearance valuation and the skin health control attitude, 2) to understand the desire about the beauty the interest about the appearance of middle aged women, and 3) to offers the basic and correct information of appearance.
The research method was questionnaire and the subjects consisted of 322 women with age between 35 to 59 who lived in Dae-Jeon, Chung-Nam, Chung-Buk area. The data were analyzed using mean, ANOVA, Crombach' Alpha, Pearson correlation.
Results were as follows :
First, the average of beauty intention is regular level as 3.54. The beauty intention of engineer(3.78) and unmarried women(3.75) was higher than others. The higher beauty intention, and the higher interest on health(3.59). Also, about the information of skin, most of people had it from skin clinic(3.97).
Second, the average of appearance valuation is standard level as 3.09. In generally, the intention of appearance was higher in graduate school (3.26) and engineer(3.78) than another group. Also, the nature of health related, the appearance intention of women who has good physical health(3.22) and good condition of skin health(3.28) was higher than another group.
Third, the average of skin health care attitude was high(3.94). In generally, the attitude of skin health control of women who come of age between 35 to 39(3.99) and the graduate school(4.01) was higher than another group. On nature of health related, the attitude of skin health control of women who has more interesting on physical health(4.00) and better skin health condition(4.06) were higher. Also, about the skin health information, the most of middle aged women took it from skin clinic(4.42).
Fourth, there were positive correlation between the intention of appearance and appearance valuation and the skin health care attitude. The higher the intention of appearance and appearance valuation, the higher the skin health control attitude.
As it above, the attitude of skin health care was affected by educational background, occupation, skin health condition of middle aged women. The results of this study would be helpful not only middle aged women, but also everybody who lives social life, also it would be offered the total knowledge and correct information of appearance.
