The purpose of this study is to prepare a reference formant values which will be used as a norm in the comparative study between normal children and disabled one.
For this, we examined the specific vowel distribution of each vowel observed in 2-dimensional acoustic space composed of F1 and F2. The subjects are composed of 4 groups(Male adults, Female adults, Male children, Female children). We measured Euclidean distance between the main vowels, /i/, /a/ and /u/ and did acoustic area composed of 4 vowels /i-e-a-u/. The meaningful results from this study were as follow: Adults likely showed that men and women all combined /e/ with /?/ and children did the round vowels, /o/ and /u/ when considering statistic dispersion eclipse. Also, we could see that there are clear difference between generations in the distribution of vowels like /ə, o, u, ɯ/ the ones frontal features are excluded. It has been found that perceptual distinction was much clerarer in adults female and children than the one made by adults male when it comes to Euclidean distance and quadrilateral acoustic area. Finally, the scaling factors which were calculated by ratios(%) relative to the formant values of adult males, showed that while there's no significant difference between children male and female in terms of F1, there has been found an increasing results in an order from adult female to adult male, and children female when considering F2.
