The purpose of this study is to analyze the kinetic variables for the side-hand step shoot movements in the handball game through the three-dimensional image analysis. It focuses on the analysis for differences between the movements of the national athletes and those who are not national athletes.
In order to improve the competitiveness in the handball game, many researchers in the countries around the world are continuously carrying out researches. Especially, in order to increase the successful rate of making goals, the importance of technical researches is currently being emphasized in the world. The winner of the handball game is decided by the number of goals made. As a result, every activity is focused on the achievement of goals. Therefore, the technique for making goals is extremely important, deciding the winner and the loser of a game.
When the athletes participate in the international handball competition, the athletes from our country are inferior to the foreign athletes, considering the different size of bodies and level of physical strength. As a result, it can be said that the athletes from our country have relative disadvantages. In order to overcome such a problem and defeat the team whose members are superior to those of our team in terms of the size of bodies and the level of physical strength, it is necessary to carry out more researches for the various systematic shoot movements, in order to obtain the victory.
As a result, this study focuses on the kinetic differences for the side-hand step shoot movements between the national athletes and those who are not. By using the image analysis, the following are provided.
1) After analyzing the change of the central point on the body, the value is relatively higher for the national athletes in the entire field, than those who are not national athletes. For the vertical change of the central point on the body, the value is relatively higher for those who are not national athletes, than the national athletes.
2) After analyzing the speed of the central point on the body, the value is higher for the national athletes in the entire field, than those who are not national athletes.
3) For each event, the angle for the lower joint is higher for the national athletes than those who are not, in the entire field. It seems that the national athletes can make the side-hand step shoot in a stable pose.
4) For each event, the angular speed for the lower joint varies between the two groups, for the angular speeds of the ankle, the knee and the hip joint.
5) The angle of the upper joint is relatively higher for the national athletes over the entire field, compared to those who are not national athletes. The speed of the ball controlled by the national athletes is very fast. Also, the side-hand shoot done by the national athletes is very precise.
6) For each event, the angular speed for the upper joint varies according to the angular speeds of the wrist, the elbow and the shoulder.
According to such a result, the change of the horizontal movement for the center point of a human body is relatively low for the national athletes compared to those who are not. The speeds of the upper and lower joints and the angular speed are relatively higher for the national athletes in every field. According to such findings, it can be said that as the athletes seem to be excellent, they tend to execute the side-hand step shoot at a lower position, showing fast speeds of the joints. They also show a high level of angular speed. Such data will be useful for selecting the necessary methods to improve the competitiveness of the athletes, and deciding the proper direction for the game.
