태권도장 서비스 품질이 태권도 수련 몰입 및 지속적 수련 행동에 미치는 영향 = (The) influences of Taekwondo studio's service quality on Taekwondo training commitment and continuous exercising behavior

국문 초록 (Abstract)

전통적인 국기로 인식되어온 태권도는 그 저변 확대에 있어, 수구형 도장경영, 과거나 현재나 변함없는 교육프로그램, 근대화되지 못한 시설 등의 문제로 인해 많은 어려움을 겪는 중이다. 특히, 태권도 수련생의 연령분포는 70-80년대에 성인중심에서, 90년대로 들어서면서 아동 수련생들로 주축을 이루고 있으며 이러한 태권도 수련층의 연령저하로 인해 그 어려움은 점점 커지고 있다. 특히 이러한 현상은 태권도장 경영 문제를 거론하였을 때 지속적인 수련으로 경영의 활성화를 기해야하는 데 있어 결코 바람직 한 현상은 아니다.
이러한 상황 속에서 본 연구는 태권도장의 서비스에 대해 수련생들이 어떤 인식을 하며, 그러한 인식은 수련생들의 수련 몰입 및 지속적 수련 가능성에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성키 위해, 태권도장과 같은 체육시설 등의 서비스품질, 수련생들의 몰입행동 및 이들의 지속적 수련가능성을 설명할 수 있는 문헌조사를 실시하였고, 이를 토대로 연구가설을 설정하여 이를 실증적으로 분석하고자 하였다.
실증분석 결과 태권도장 경영의 활성화를 이루는 방안을 조성하기 위한 바람직한 요소로 성과품질과 환경품질이 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 성과 품질과 몰입간의 관계에 있어서 수련생들이 도장을 다니는 주목적이 체력 단련에 있음을 보여주었다. 또한 환경품질과 몰입에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 이는 도장의 시설이나 운동기구 혹은 실내 인테리어 등의 환경적 요인에 많은 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 태권도장도 내부 시설에도 많은 관심을 가지고 있어야 한다는 것을 의미하고 있다.
그리고 수련생들의 몰입이 만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 지속적 수련 가능성이 높아지려면 수련생의 만족도가 높아져야 함을 나타내고 있다. 그러나 몰입-지속적 수련가능성간의 관계는 통계적으로 유의한 관계를 보여주지 못해, 수련생들이 도장이나 수련에 몰입한다고 해서 반드시 지속적으로 등록하지는 않는 것으로 나타났다.
이러한 실증분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 태권도장의 서비스품질 개선 및 이를 통한 경영성과 개선을 위한 구체적이고 실제적인 시사점을 제공토록 하였다. 동시에 본 연구의 진행상에 드러난 여러 가지 학문 및 실무적 한계점을 제시하고 이의 극복을 통한 향후 연구에 대한 시사점을 제공토록 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Taekwondo known to be the Korean national pastime has been struggling to extend the fan base because of the conservative arena management, old-fashioned exercising program, out-dated facilities. The characters of Taekwondo trainees have dramatically changed as well. For example, young generation becomes the majorities of Taekwondo trainees after 1990s while those were mainly the adults in 1970s and 80s. It implies that Taekwondo arenas need to be more service oriented than ever, since the new generations of Taekwondo trainees are more demanding for the good services than the older generation.
To this respect, the current study attempts to see the role of service quality of Taekwondo arenas. In fact, many factors would be influenced by service quality(i.e., satisfaction, continuos buying behavior etc). Earlier studies also indicate that commitment would also play a critical role in forming the satisfaction. Based on the extant literature in service quality and Taekwondo industry, the current study set several research hypotheses explaining the relationships between service quality, commitment, satisfaction, and continuous exercising behavior.
The empirical testings show several interesting results on the relationship among research constructs. First, the results show that there are significant influences of performance quality and environmental quality on trainees' commitment to Taekwondo arena. Second, the significant impact of trainees' commitment on trainees' satisfaction is found; and consequently, the satisfaction is found to have a significant impact on continuous exercising behavior. Third, it is found that there is no significant influence of trainees' commitment on continuous exercising behavior.
Upon to the research findings, several academic and practical implications are raised. At the same time, the limitations of the current study were remarked; and the guidelines for the future research were proposed.
