초등학생의 인터넷 중독 실태 및 요인 분석 연구 = A Study on the Current Status and Factors of the Internet Addiction in Elementary Schools

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 초등학생의 인터넷 중독 실태를 알아보고 그 중독 요인을 인터넷 사용특성 측면, 가정생활 측면, 학교생활 측면에서 살펴보았다. 초등학생의 대부분이 인터넷을 이용하여 학습 뿐 아니라 여가생활을 비롯하여 친구관계에 이르기까지 생활 전반에 인터넷을 활용하면서 새로운 생활 문화를 창조한다는 긍정적인 측면도 크지만 인터넷 중독이라는 부정적인 측면이 점차 대두되고 있다. 특히 인터넷 사용 연령이 점차 낮아지면서 초등학교 학생들의 인터넷 중독에 대한 연구의 필요성이 강조되고 있으나 지금까지 중·고등학생이나 대학생 및 성인들의 인터넷 중독에 대한 연구가 이루어져 왔다. 따라서 본 연구는 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 K-척도를 적용하여 인터넷 중독 실태를 파악하고, 인터넷 중독 요인을 분석하여 인터넷 중독 예방 방법 연구에 근거를 제시하고자 연구를 실시하였다. 초등학생들의 인터넷 중독을 예방하고 치유할 수 있는 방법은 가정과 학교의 연계에 의해 학교에서는 학생들의 인터넷 중독 실태를 정확히 파악하고 면밀한 관찰과 상담을 통해 요인들을 분석하여 요인별로 개인의 특성에 맞는 예방법과 치료법을 적용하고 가정에서는 부모가 성적 위주의 가치관 지양하고 대화시간을 늘이고 가정 분위기를 화목하게 만드는 것이 중요하다.

This study examines the current status of the on-line use and addict of elementary school children. This study attempts to find out the cause of addict from the respective view point of internet use aspect, home and school life. The internet has a great positive aspect for elementary school students because most of them create new lifestyle culture while maintaining learning, leisure activities, entertainment, and friendship relationship but it also has caused a negative aspect. Particularly, as the age group for internet use drops, even elementary school students in the lower grades have become defenselessly exposed to the internet. This has pointed up the need for research into internet addiction, but only fragmental studies aimed only at middle and high school students or a university students and adults, have been conducted. Therefore, this study intended to discover current internet addiction conditions of elementary school students in the fifth and sixth grades, by applying the K-scale, and to offer grounds for seeking internet addiction prevention method by analyzing the factors affecting internet addiction. The best way to heal internet addiction in elementary school students may be to make a consorted effort in line with the families and the schools. School needs to accurately identify current conditions for internet addiction in students, closely observe children addicted to the internet, and analyze its factors affecting internet addiction. It is important for parents to avoid narrow views oriented to school grades, to increase conversation time with children, and to create a harmonious family atmosphere with love and affection at home.
