유아기 부·모의 아버지 역할에 대한 인식과 실제

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 부·모의 아버지 역할에 대한 인식과 실제, 그리고 아버지 역할에 대한 부부간의 일치도를 알아보고자 하였다.
본 연구는 경상남도 M시에 위치한 유치원 2개소와 어린이집 2개소의 원아 226명의 어머니와 아버지를 대상으로 질문지 조사를 하였다. 연구도구는 위영희(1980)와 김성희(1990)의 척도를 본 연구에 맞도록 수정 보완하여 사용하였다. 자료처리는 SPSS 14.0 프로그램으로 분석하였고 t-검증과 일원배치 변량분석(One-way ANOVA)을 시행하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 아버지가 생각하는 아버지 역할인식과 실제 역할수행이 높은 가운데 역할인식이 역할수행보다 높게 나타났으며, 아버지의 사회인구학적 배경에 따라서는 차이가 없었다. 유아기 아버지는 기본적인 훈육의 역할을 가장 중요하게 인식하였고, 다음으로 바람직한 성격형성의 역할, 정서적 안정감을 갖게 하는 역할, 가정 융화의 역할 순으로 응답하였으며, 부모 자신을 위해 노력하는 역할의 중요성을 상대적으로 가장 낮게 인식하였다. 역할수행에서도 같은 순서로 나타나 역할을 중요하게 생각할수록 역할수행도 높았다.
둘째, 아버지 역할에 대한 어머니가 기대하는 역할인식과 어머니가 평가한 아버지의 실제 역할수행 모두 높게 나타난 가운데 역할인식이 실제 역할수행보다 높았으며 어머니의 사회인구학적 배경에 따라서는 차이가 없었다. 유아기 어머니는 기본적인 훈육의 역할을 아버지께 가장 많이 기대하였고 다음으로 바람직한 성격 형성의 역할, 인적환경 조성의 역할, 가정 융화의 역할 순이었으며 실제 역할수행도 같은 순서로 나타났다. 어머니 또한 남편이 부모자신을 위해 노력하는 역할을 가장 낮게 수행한다고 평가하였다.
셋째, 부·모의 아버지 역할에 대한 역할인식과 실제 역할수행에 있어 전 영역에서 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 어머니가 아버지 역할을 중요하게 인식할수록 아버지도 본인의 역할을 중요하게 인식하였고, 어머니가 아버지 역할을 높게 평가할수록 아버지 본인도 더 많이 참여 하는 것으로 나타났다. 9개의 역할 중 6개영역(인적환경 조성의 역할, 기본적인 훈육의 역할, 정서적 안정감을 갖게 하는 역할, 가정 융화의 역할, 부모자신을 위해 노력하는 역할)에서 아버지에 비해 어머니가 더 중요하게 인식하였다. 그리고 실제 역할 수행평가에서는 3개영역(인적환경 조성의 역할, 기본적인 훈육의 역할, 정서적 안정감을 갖게 하는 역할)에서 아버지의 평가보다 어머니의 평가가 높았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to explore and clarify the parents perception and the performance of the father's role in parenting their children and the level of difference in accordance between a couple.
Questionnaires were provided to the fathers and mothers of 226 children currently enrolled in 2 kindergartens and 2 day care centers located in M city, South Kyongsang province. A study tool was utilized in the study by enhancing the existing measures of Wiyeonghui (1980) and Gimseong's (1990). Data was analyzed by SPSS 14.0 program and paired sampled t-test and One-way ANOVA were processed.
The result of the study is summarized as follows.
First, the level of a perception of the father role was higher than the actual performance and an actual performance of the role as a father appeared high while father role perception and actuality role-playing that father thinks are high, and there was no difference according to father's social and demography background.
The fathers in their children's babyhood recognize "basic discipline" as the most important role to be performed and "personality formation", "the role of making his child emotionally peaceful", "building a harmonious family", respectively, and making efforts for their own sake ranked the lowest. This sequence of importance also applied to the performance of the role and showed that the fathers perform a role in higher possibility as they regard the role more important.
Second, as for the mothers, role perception was higher than actuality while the perception of the role as a father that a mother expects and the actual performance of the father role a mother evaluates both appeared high, and there was no difference according to mother's social and demographic background. For the mothers' expectation of the fathers' role, "the role of disciplinary education" was emphasized most, and then, "the role of personality formation", "building a harmonious family", and 'the role of making his child emotionally peacefully' ranked ,respectively. As in the case of fathers, making efforts for their own sake ranked the lowest.
Third, it appears that a static correlation exists over all the areas of father and mother's role perception and actual performance of a father's role.
As a mother recognizes a father's role importantly, a father recognizes his role in the same way, and also as a mother assesses a father's role highly, a father tends to perform his role more actively.
