This study establishes as following study questions in order to see the influences of story reorganizing activity using picture book on early children's sense of self esteem.
A. What influences the story reorganizing activity has on early children's sense of self esteem?
B. What gender differences are in this influences?
The subjects of this study are four years old early children attending D nursery school located in P dong and J nursery school located in Y dong, Jeonju city, North Jeolla Province, Korea. First, researcher explained the contents of questionnaire according to the teacher's guidebook to children supposed to be researched, to the extent of their understanding well enough. When they answered to respective questionnaire, researcher recorded this on the recording paper.
T-test analysis via SPSS program are used to deal with the values of both preliminary and post examinations.
The results of this study are as following.
Experiment reveals the fact that the experimental group which have performed story reorganizing activity using picture books show higher sense of self esteem than control group which have never done it.
First, the sense of self-esteem of early children who belong to experimental group which have participated in the story reorganizing activity was higher enough meaningfully than that of children who belong to control group. This result suggests that story reorganizing activity affected elevation of early children's sense of self-esteem positively.
