This paper is to prove the effect of the self-regulated learning program for elementary school students to decrease academic stress level, increase school adjustment level and increase self-regulated learning ability level. In order to achieve the purpose, following hypotheses were raised;
First, the participants in the self-regulated learning program will experience less academic stress than the comparison group.
Second, the participants in the self-regulated learning program will cause more school adjustment than the comparison group.
Third, the participants in the self-regulated learning program cause more self-regulated learning ability than the comparison group.
In order to verify these hypotheses, I selected fifth grade students from the Gimpo elementary school, and then the academic stress test and school adjustment test, self-regulated learning test were given to the students. The fact analysis, t-test, ancova and frequency analysis were used to verify the hypothesis in this study. The result of this study could be summarized as follows:
First, the academic stress score of the participants in the self-regulated learning program decreased more than the comparison group.
Second, the school adjustment level of the participants in the self-regulated learning program increased more than the comparison group.
Third, the self-regulated learning ability level of the participants in the self-regulated learning program increased more than the comparison group.
In conclusion, the self-regulated learning program will be effective for decreasing academic stress level, increasing school adjustment level and increasing self-regulated learning ability level.
