문화도시 전략으로서 수원화성 국제연극제 개선방안 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Suwon Hwaseong is one of our valuable cultural heritage which has been recognized all over the world. Also, the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress Theatre Festival host by Suwon Hwaseong is one of regional festivals uses the fortress as an attractive central stage of easy access. Various cultural properties including the fortress surrounding Suwon Hwaseong serve as a space to experience history and culture simultaneously, as well as one for our daily lives.
Thus, this thesis suggests that through Suwon Hwaseong Fortress Theatre Festival based on this spatial characteristic, the cultural heritage and regional festival in Suwon Hwaseong can be combined to stretch itself to a cultural city in the long run. In addition, it defines the concept of cultural city in order to study the influence of successful regional festival on the cultural city. Subsequently, it classifies the types and characteristics of cultural city, and then raises the problems of regional festivals at home now, thereby trying to find the solution of the problems by citing the cases of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress Theatre Festival. It is thought that, through this process, the present Suwon Hwaseong Fortress Theatre Festival can be developed into a still better theatre festival than now.
However, this study is considered insufficient in that it excluded board and lodging-type participation in theater festival among the several contents suggested as a way for improvement. This staying-type course for theater festival is poorly designed so that it should be improved for the development of theater festival hereafter.
Consequently, it is expected that this thesis which gropes for the measures to improve the contents of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress Theatre Festival will contribute to revitalization of Suwon Hwaseong, and further, though poor, for Suwon to stretch itself to a cultural city.
