The purpose of this study is to figure out how level of life, leisure activity and health effect on satisfaction of the old's life. Objects are people over 60 years old living in kang nam gu, seo cho gu and near new cities. The survey was conducted to be analyzed as the following.
Objects of the survey consist of 149 females and 95 males out of total 244 people taking 61.1% and 38.9%, respectively and of 195 people under 75 years old and 49 people over 75 years old taking 79.9% and 20.1%, respectively. More than half of the objects was female under 75 years old.
72.1% of 244 objects, 176 people, are religious and 27.9% of 244 objects, 68 people, are not. 44.3% of objects are educated above bachelor's degree and 55.7% of them are not. 36.1% of them have job and 63.9% of them don't.
The biggest part of the level of life of the objects is 65.6% of 'not bad' followed by 20.9% of 'good', 10.2% of 'bad', 2.9% of 'very good', 0.4% of 'too bad'.
The first assumption was relationship between level of life and leisure activities which turned out that people have tendency to be active doing leisure activities as their level of life grows. The level of life has tremendous effects on leisure activity since it costs money.
The second assumption, higher level of life will give people better health condition, was abandoned since objects of the survey whose level of life was bad had as good health condition as that of who had higher level of life by steady efforts without special equipments or economical investment.
The third assumption of relationship between leisure activities and satisfaction of life turned out that people active on leisure activities had higher satisfaction of life, Joy, relationship and self-confidence which they find doing it contribute to their satisfaction of life.
The fourth assumption of relationship between health condition and satisfaction of life showed that better health condition gives the olds higher satisfaction of their life. Health condition affects the olds' whole life and satisfaction since their capability of physiological adaption.
The fifth assumption of relationship between level of the life and satisfaction showed that higher level of life gives people higher satisfaction of their life. The olds are concerned about decreasing of their income by retirement and their subjective standard of how good their economical status is showed stronger effects on satisfaction than absolute standard did.
The sixth assumption of the relationship between health condition and leisure activities turned out that people on better condition were more active on leisure activities that who is not. It is obvious that the olds' health condition is a critical factor which decides amount and quality of leisure activities.
Level of life and health condition seemed to have tremendous effects on the olds' satisfaction of their life. Steady effort by the olds to keep good health condition and to satisfy economical needs is required to stay satisfied about their life and To meet the various needs of increasing old group and give them safer environment, more issues on policy for the olds need to be identified as many as possible at major parts of policies and more concerns and system need to be given by society.
