WBC와 김연아 효과에 따른 대학생 스포츠 관심도와 직접 참여 변화 연구 = The changing of WBC and Yeon-A Kim's effect on undergraduate students' interest and participation in sports

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 2009년에 있었던 한국 야구 국가대표팀의 WBC대회 준우승과 김연아 선수의 세계선수권 대회 우승 효과가 대학생 스포츠 관심도와 직접 참여에 어떤 변화를 주었는가를 알아보는 것이다.
이 연구를 위해 D광역시 P대학교 단과대학 별 조교들에게 연구목적을 설명하고 설문지 작성에 대한 교육을 하여 학교에 있는 단과대학 별 학생들을 대상으로 무작위로 추출하여 설문지를 배포하였다. 설문지는 자가평가기입법(Self-administering method)으로 작성하게 하도록 하고 완성된 설문지를 바로 회수하였다. 배포된 590부의 설문지 중 불성실하게 응답한 90부의 설문지를 제외하고 올바르게 기입된 설문지 500부만을 유효 표본으로 선정하여 통계 분석하였다.
이 연구를 가설을 알아보기 위해서 t-test와 일원변량분석(one-way ANOVA)을 p=.05 유의수준에 실시하였다. 그리고, WBC와 김연아 선수 효과 전․ 후 대학생의 스포츠 관심 및 스포츠 참여에 차이가 있는지를 확인하기 위하여 paired t-test를 p=.05 유의수준에 실시하였다.
이 연구 결과, WBC와 김연아 효과가 스포츠 관심도에는 확연한 변화를 주지만 스포츠 직접 참여에는 확연한 변화를 주지는 못하는 것으로 나타났다.
그러나 추가분석을 한 WBC와 김연아 선수 효과 전․ 후 대학생의 스포츠 관심 및 직접 참여 변화는 통계적으로 유의한 변화가 있었다는 결과가 도출되었다.
이 연구의 결과를 보고, 세계적 스포츠 이벤트에 입상하는 것과 스포츠 스타의 선전이 스포츠 관심도와 직접참여에 긍정적인 변화를 준다고 볼 수 있다. 스포츠 참여를 이끌어 내기 위한 더 효과적인 방안을 마련하기 위해서는 추가적인 조사연구가 필요하다고 보여진다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the changing of Korean Baseball Team coming out second best in the 2009 WBC and Yeon-A Kim winning the World Figure Staking Championship in 2009 on undergraduate students' interest and participation in sports.
For this study, 590 undergraduate students were randomly selected from each faculty at P university. They were asked to answer a questionnaire with Self-administering method and return it. While 590 questionnaires were distributed, only 500 ones were used for the following data analyses.
To test the hypotheses of this study, t-test and one way ANOVA were run with the significant level of .05. In addition, repeated measures ANOVA was conducted to compare the difference in participants' sports participation between pre- and post WBA and Yeon-A Kim. The results revealed that WBC and Yeon-A Kim did not significant affect sports participation. However, additional analysis found a statistically significant difference in the frequency and interest in sports between pre- and post WBC and Yeon-A Kim.
Drawing from the findings, it can be suggested that winning in a world championship and a world sport star has a positive effect on increasing the frequency and interest in sports. For better understanding about an effective strategy to encourage sports participation, further research is needed.
