This study is aimed at understanding how the sense of humor and coping humor influence the happiness of housewife. We surveyed 244 residents in Seou lmetropolitan area by using a questionnaire method based upon three indicators, SHQ((Sense of Humor Questionnaire), CHS(Coping Humor Scale) and Happy Life Scale
The results are the followings:
First, among all age groups, housewives in their 40s, and those who have been married for 20~30 years responded that they were happy. Those with higher education felt happier. There was no significant difference in overall happiness between groups with and without religion. But it showed differences in sub-categories such as altruism and positive outlook on life.
Second, of sense of humor including an ability to express humor, to enjoy humor, to recognize humor, to cope with humor had a correlation with happiness.
Third, sub-categories of sense of humor had positive effects on each sub-category of happiness and happiness of life.
