제7차 교육과정의 중등학교 가정 교과서에 나타난 진로교육 내용분석

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to find out how much home economics(HE) textbook was focused on what kind of factors in career education, by analyzing the HE textbooks from the 7th grade(1st grade of the middle school) to the 10th grade(1st grade of high school), which were developed by applying the 7th educational process. 12 textbooks which were published by three publishers were randomly selected by grade.
This study used the instrument developed by Korea Research Institute for Vacational Education & Training(2001) as an analysis frame, along with a content analysis system.
The results of this study were as follows.
First, as a result of analyzing the domain of career education reflected by a unit of HE textbook, the contents of career education were evenly reflected in the whole units.
Second, with respect to the contents stated in each unit of career education, the unit 󰡐Characteristics of juveniles󰡑 which belonged to 󰡐Understanding of myself and my family󰡑 section included 󰡐Self understanding󰡑, ‘Work and occupation󰡑, ‘Formation of attitude and habit for work and occupation󰡑, 󰡐Work and learning󰡑 and ‘Plan for career󰡑. The unit 󰡐Sex and dating󰡑suggested 󰡐Self understanding󰡑 and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑. The unit 󰡐My family relationship󰡑 stressed 󰡐Self understanding󰡑 and ‘Formation of attitude and habit for work and occupation󰡑.
󰡐Juveniles' meal󰡑 section suggested the contents of 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑 as a whole. The unit 'The basis and practice of cooking󰡑 which belonged to 󰡐Juveniles' meal󰡑 included the contents of 󰡐Work and learning’ and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑. The units 󰡐Function of clothing and attire󰡑 and 󰡐Plan to buy clothes and purchase' which belonged to 󰡐Preparation and management of clothes󰡑 stressed the contents of 󰡐Work and learning󰡑 and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑, and 󰡐Making clothes and recycling󰡑 contained the domain of 󰡐Work and learning󰡑. The unit 󰡐Handling and keeping of clothes󰡑 suggested the contents of 󰡐Work and learning󰡑, 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑, and 󰡐Formation of attitude and habit for work and occupation󰡑.
The unit 'Resources application and environment' which belonged to󰡐Resources management and environment󰡑 section suggested the contents of 󰡐Work and learning󰡑 and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑. The unit 󰡐Juveniles' work and time󰡑suggested the contents of ‘Work and learning󰡑, 󰡐Formation of attitude and habit for work and occupation󰡑, and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑, and the unit󰡐Juveniles' consumption󰡑 included the contents of 󰡐Plan for career󰡑 and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑.
The unit 'Selection of menu and food󰡑 which belonged to 󰡐Family meals management󰡑 section stressed the contents of 'Work and occupation󰡑, and the unit 󰡐Meal preparation and evaluation󰡑 suggested the contents of 󰡐Work and learning󰡑and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑. The unit 󰡐Table manner󰡑included the contents of 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑, 󰡐Work and learning󰡑and 󰡐Plan for career󰡑.
The unit 󰡐Application of living space󰡑 which belonged to 󰡐Family life and residential area󰡑 suggested the contents of 󰡐Self understanding󰡑and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑, the unit 󰡐Indoor environment and equipment󰡑contained󰡐Work and occupation󰡑, and the unit 󰡐Housing maintenance󰡑 suggested the contents of 󰡐Self understanding󰡑and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑.
The unit 󰡐Change in home culture󰡑 which belonged to 󰡐Design of home life󰡑 included󰡐Formation of attitude and habit for work and occupation󰡑and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑, the unit 󰡐Family life cycle and life design󰡑 included the whole field of career education such as 󰡐Plan for career󰡑,󰡐Self understanding󰡑,󰡐Work and occupation󰡑,󰡐Work and learning󰡑and󰡐Formation of attitude and habit for work and occupation.󰡑The unit 󰡐Marriage and childcare󰡑suggested career information related to the unit through the contents of󰡐Work and occupation󰡑.
The unit 󰡐Plan and arrangement for invitation and events󰡑 which belonged to 󰡐Practice of home life󰡑 suggested the contents of 󰡐Work and learning󰡑and󰡐Work and occupation󰡑. The section 󰡐Making supplies by means of fabric󰡑 stated the contents of󰡐Work and learning󰡑and󰡐Work and occupation󰡑. The unit 󰡐Decoration of residential space󰡑 suggested the contents of 󰡐Work and learning󰡑 and 󰡐Work and occupation󰡑. Accordingly, HE textbook contained evenly the whole field of career education in each unit.
Third, as a result of analyzing the weight of career education section contained in HE textbooks by publisher, based on the contents reflecting career education, three kinds of publishers all placed a great deal of weight on 'Work and occupation' section.
The publishers of HE textbook stressed similar points in each section of career education, evenly reflecting the objectives and contents of career education. Three kinds of publishers also placed the same weight on the factors of career education in each unit, and suggested the contents related to career education in the whole units. HE textbook was designed to lead learners to understand self and have interest in varied occupations. Additionally, it provided the learners with a chance to consider their career and occupation by means of detailed job information, and its contents including learning of occupational ability for job selection were useful to plan and prepare for career.
Accordingly, as HE textbook is most effective to promote connection between work and learning and contains proper factors of career guidance, it is one of the most appropriate textbooks to deal with career education.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 가정 교과서를 분석하여 가정 교과가 진로교육의 어떠한 내용 요소를 얼마나 강조하여 다루고 있는지를 알아내는 데 있다. 본 연구를 위한 분석 대상은 제7차 교육과정을 적용하여 개발된 7학년(중1)에서 10학년(고1)까지의 기술․가정 교과서 중 가정영역이다. 분석된 교과서는 현재 각급 학교에서 사용하고 있는 󰡐기술․가정󰡑 교과서 중 임의로 3개의 출판사에서 나온 교과서를 각 학년별로 총 12권 선정하였다.
본 연구에서 사용한 분석틀은 한국직업능력개발원(2001)에서 개발한󰡐진로교육의 목표 및 내용 체계󰡑이며 내용 분석법을 사용하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 중등학교 가정 교과서의 단원별로 반영된 진로교육 영역을 분석한 결과, 중등학교 가정 교과서에서는 모든 영역에 속한 전 단원에 진로교육의 영역의 내용이 편중되지 않고 고루 반영되어 있었다.
둘째, 가정 교과서의 영역에 속한 단원 별로 가정 교과서에 서술된 진로교육 영역의 내용을 살펴보면, 󰡐나와 가족의 이해󰡑영역에 속한 󰡐청소년의 특성󰡑단원에서는󰡐자아 이해󰡑, 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑, 󰡐일과 직업에 대한 태도와 습관 형성󰡑 및 󰡐일과 학습󰡑그리고󰡐진로계획󰡑이 모두 포함되었다. 󰡐성과 이성교제󰡑단원에서는 진로교육의 영역 중󰡐자아 이해󰡑와 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 제시되었다. 󰡐나와 가족 관계󰡑단원에서는 󰡐자아 이해󰡑와 󰡐일과 직업에 대한 태도와 습관 형성󰡑의 내용이 강조되었다.
󰡐청소년의 식사󰡑영역에서는 전반적으로 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 제시되고 있었다. 이 영역에 속한 󰡐조리의 기초와 실제󰡑단원에서는 󰡐일과 학습󰡑영역과 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 포함되어 있었다. 또한 󰡐의복 마련과 관리󰡑영역에 속한 󰡐의복의 기능과 옷차림 단원과 󰡑과 󰡐의복 마련 계획과 구입󰡑및 󰡐의복의 기능과 옷차림󰡑단원에서는󰡐일과 학습󰡑영역과 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 강조되었으며, 󰡐옷만들기와 재활용󰡑에서는 󰡐일과 학습󰡑영역의 내용이 포함되었다. 그리고󰡐옷의 손질과 보관󰡑단원에서는 󰡐일과 학습󰡑, 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑, 󰡐일과 직업에 대한 태도와 습관 형성󰡑영역의 내용이 제시되었다.
󰡐자원의 관리와 환경󰡑영역에 속한 󰡐자원의 활용과 환경󰡑단원에서는 󰡐일과 학습󰡑과 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 제시되었다. 또한 󰡐청소년의 일과 시간󰡑단원에서는 󰡐일과 학습󰡑, 󰡐일과 직업에 대한 태도와 습관 형성󰡑, 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑의 내용을 제시되었고 󰡐청소년의 소비 생활󰡑단원에서는 󰡐진로계획󰡑과󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 포함되었다.
󰡐가족의 식사 관리󰡑영역에 속한 󰡐식단과 식품의 선택󰡑단원에서는 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 강조되었으며, 󰡐식사 준비와 평가󰡑단원에서 󰡐일과 학습󰡑과󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 제시되고 있었다. 󰡐식사 예절󰡑단원에서는 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑와 󰡐일과 학습󰡑, 󰡐진로 계획󰡑의 내용을 찾아볼 수 있었다.
󰡐가족 생활과 주거 영역󰡑에 속한 󰡐생활 공간의 활용󰡑단원에서 󰡐자아 이해󰡑와 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역 내용이 제시되고 있었으며, 󰡐실내 환경과 설비󰡑단원에서 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 발견되었으며, 󰡐주택의 유지와 보수󰡑 단원에서는 󰡐자아 이해󰡑와 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑의 내용이 제시되고 있었다.
󰡐가정 생활의 설계󰡑영역에 속한 󰡐가정 생활 문화의 변화󰡑의 단원에서 󰡐일과 직업에 대한 태도와 습관 형성󰡑과 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역을,󰡐가족 생활 주기와 생활 설계󰡑단원에서는󰡐진로 계획󰡑과󰡐자아 이해󰡑, 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑및 󰡐일과 학습󰡑 그리고 󰡐일과 직업에 대한 태도와 습관 형성󰡑의 진로교육 전 영역을 포함하고 있었다. 󰡐결혼과 육아󰡑단원에서는󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역을 통해 단원과 관련된 진로정보를 제시하였다.
󰡐가정 생활의 실제󰡑영역에 속한󰡐초대와 행사의 계획과 준비󰡑단원에서 󰡐일과 학습󰡑영역과 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용이 제시되었다. 󰡐직물을 이용한 생활 용품 만들기󰡑영역에서는 󰡐일과 학습󰡑, 󰡐일과 직업세계󰡑와 관련된 내용을 다루었다. 󰡐나의 주거 공간 꾸미기󰡑의 단원에서는 󰡐일과 학습󰡑영역과 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 내용을 제시하였다. 따라서 중등학교 가정 교과서에서는 각각의 단원의 내용과 관련하어 제시된 진로교육의 영역이 편중되지 않고 고루 반영되어 있음을 알 수 있다.
셋째, 진로교육이 반영된 내용을 바탕으로 출판사별 중등학교 가정 교과서에서 다룬 진로교육 영역 비중을 분석한 결과, 3종 출판사 모두에서 진로교육 영역에서 󰡐일과 직업 세계󰡑영역의 비중이 두드러지게 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
가정 교과서는 출판사별로 진로교육의 해당 영역별로 다루고 있는 강조점이 비슷하여 진로교육의 목표 및 내용이 편중되는 현상 없이 대체로 골고루 반영되어 있었으며, 각 단원별로 다루는 진로교육의 요소의 비중에 있어서도 3종 출판사 모두가 거의 차이가 없이 비슷하게 구성되어 있었다. 또한 진로교육과 관련된 내용이 모든 단원에 제시되어 있었다. 특히 가정 교과서에서는 자아를 이해할 수 있도록 유도하며 이를 바탕으로 다양한 직업 분야에 대해서 흥미와 관심을 갖도록 구성되어 있었다. 또한 구체적인 직업정보의 제시를 통해 진로와 직업 선택에 대한 고민을 할 수 있는 계기를 제공하며, 진로선택을 위한 직업 능력을 학습할 수 있는 내용까지 포함하여 진로계획을 세우고 준비하는 데 유용하게 구성되었다.
따라서 가정 교과는 일과 학습과의 연계를 촉진할 수 있는데 가장 효과적이며 교과지도 안에 진로지도의 요소를 적절히 구성하고 있기에 가정 교과야말로 진로교육을 담당하기에 가장 적합한 교과 중의 하나라고 사료된다.
