The purpose of this paper is to examine the teachers' job satisfaction influenced by changeable leadership of a kindergarten principal. To achieve the purpose of this paper, the subject of this study is as followed.
First, what is the changeable leadership of kindergarten principal which kindergarten teachers are recognized?
Second, are there any differences based on subordinate variables of job and various backgrounds of teachers in teachers' job satisfaction who are currently working in kindergarten?
Third, what is the influence of teachers' job satisfaction based on the changeable leadership of kindergarten principal?
To resolve the subject of research, I have used the measurement method as principal changeable intended leadership questionnaires devised by Roh, Jong-Hee (1996) and referred several questionnaires from Gwon, In-Tak,(1994), Kim, Chang-Girl (1999), and Shim, Yoon-Hee(2007) which are transformed to four section; vision establishment or share, personal consideration, intellectual stimulation, and setting an example of moderation to others.
To measure the job satisfaction recognized by teachers, I have selected seven sectors for job satisfaction which kindergarten considers as a crucial factor as referencing questionnaires from Choi, In-Soon (1995), and Kuk, Jin-Kyung (2006) to reconstruct for this study. Those sections are work task itself, payment, workloads, human relationship, supervision method, social recognition, and educational support.
For the data analysis method, I have used the Cronbach's α for a confidence and have used the Pearson's correlation analysis and performed the multi regression analysis for verifying the changeable leadership of the principal and for examining the teachers' job satisfaction. Additionally, the multi-regression analysis has been conducted for examining how the changeable leadership is influenced to the job satisfaction. Especially, independent sample t verification is performed for analyzing the degree of recognition between the principal and teachers with regards to changeable leadership and job satisfaction.
First, analyze of the changeable leadership of principal recognized by the kindergarten teachers has not shown any meaningful statistical differences by age and carrier, but shown meaningful statistical differences of recognition by educational background.
Second, even though it has no statistical meaning, the kindergarten teachers highly appraised the job satisfaction in overall.
Third, analyze of changeable leadership of a kindergarten principal and job satisfaction has shown a static correlation between two factors.
Fourth, according to the result of test analysis whether the changeable leadership of a kindergarten principal has influence on the teachers' job satisfaction, the job satisfaction has been affected approximately by 42%.
The study result as mentioned above is concluded as following. First, it is necessary for a kindergarten principal to display new concept leadership by dramatic changing of traditional leadership so that he/she can actively meet a new challenge. And it is important that he/she should be modeled as a promoter of change with truth and passion for reformative visions.
As the principal's changeable leadership is very crucial for the management of a kindergarten, it is necessary for him/her to show reformative leadership by taking the initiative and setting an example, and developing intellectual stimulus, individual consideration, and vision setting.
Second, in order to increase teachers’ job satisfaction, this study shows the need of effort to increase satisfaction measurement in such subordinate factors as quantity of work, pay, social recognition, and supervising method while human relation and job itself should be focused with regard to reformative leadership of a kindergarten principal. It is necessary to promote quality improvement of an early childhood education institute in connection with teachers’ satisfaction by finding an political improving method especially in teachers’ pays or social aspects.
Based on this study result, I would like to propose several ideas for following research.
First, as this study has been conducted through questionnaire for current teachers on changeable leadership of a kindergarten principal, the possibility can’t be ruled out that teachers have been conscious of their principal in survey. So, the successive study should use more outspoken material obtained through field observation and in-depth interview.
Second, as this study has limited the respondents to those who work in Suwon, it is need edtoexpand there spondentsto all of tho sewho work in Kyeonggido and Seoul.
