청소년의 자기애와 우울증상의 관계에서 수치심의 매개효과

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of shame in the relationships between adolescents' narcissism and depression.
The subjects were 674 high school students in grades 1 through 3 in kyung gi province. They were assessed by The Narcisstic Personality Inventory, The Narcisstic Personality Disorder Scale, The Internalized Shame Scale, and The Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale.
The results showed as follows:
First, adolescents' depression and overt narcissism showed a significant negative correlations. However, adolescents' depression and covert narcissism showed a significant positive correlations.
Second, both adolescents' overt and covert narcissism had a significant effects on adolescents' depression. However, the effects of covert narcissism on adolescents' depression were relatively bigger than overt narcissism.
Third, both adolescents' overt and covert narcissism had a significant effects on shame. However, the effects of covert narcissism on shame were relatively bigger than overt narcissism.
Fourth, adolescents' overt narcissism indicated a significant path coefficient but not good fit indices and insufficient RMSEA. However adolescents' covert narcissism indicated a significant path coefficient and good fit indices.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 청소년의 자기애와 우울증상과의 관계에서 수치심의 매개효과를 검증하였다.
연구대상은 경기도에 위치한 남, 여 고등학교 1-3학년 674명이었다. 측정도구는 자기애 성격검사지(NPI), 자기애적 성격장애 척도(NPDS), 내면화된 수치심 척도(ISS), 우울증 척도(CES-D)였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 청소년의 우울증상은 외현적 자기애와 부적 상관관계를 나타내었고 내재적 자기애와는 정적 상관관계를 나타내었다.
둘째, 청소년의 외현적 자기애와 내재적 자기애가 우울증상에 미치는 영향이 유의하였지만 내재적 자기애가 외현적 자기애보다 우울증상에 미치는 영향이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 청소년의 외현적 자기애와 내재적 자기애가 수치심에 미치는 영향이 유의하였지만 내재적 자기애가 외현적 자기애보다 수치심에 미치는 영향이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 청소년의 자기애와 우울증상과의 관계에서 수치심의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 외현적 자기애가 수치심을 거쳐 우울증상으로 가는 경로는 유의하였으나 모델의 적합도가 적절하지 않았고, 모델의 간명성은 낮았다. 반면 내재적 자기애가 수치심을 거쳐 우울증상으로 가는 경로의 계수는 유의하였고, 모델의 적합도 또한 적절하였다.
이에 따라 청소년의 내재적 자기애가 우울증상에 영향을 줄 때 수치심이 일부 원인으로 작용하는 것을 확인하였다.
