Due to the soaring competitiveness of service industry of today, the marketing strategy of hotel restaurant is getting much more important. Furthermore, restaurants which have great employees can grab the competitive advantages so that the employees’ service environment and job satisfaction top the chart.
In this study, the servicescape, the physical environment of restaurant, provokes the internal response of employees (emotional, cognitive, physiological responses), then we analyze what affects the job satisfaction of employees. In addition, by proposing it, we try to suggest some ways of the competitive and effective human resource management. The theoretical base is that it is designed based mainly on the Bitner’s investigating model (1992). The method of this study is AMOS utilizing the analysis of frequency, reliability, factor, relation, structural equation model, and etc. Consequently, we verify what effects are on the employees who recognized the servicescape of hotel restaurant by provoking the internal response.
The results of this investigation are that among the servicescape of hotel restaurant, mutually cooperating environment is statistically beneficial in terms of the internal response factors such as the cognitive, physiological, emotional responses. The spatial function also brings influences on internal responses such as the cognitive, physiological, emotional responses all together.
In the analysis of the internal response, results are that physiological and emotional responses are beneficial statistically. That is, what employees can actually feel such as the state of health, physical comport, and passion or enjoyment, etc is closely related to the actual job satisfaction
These results of this study need to be reflected in terms of the strategies of internal marketing by recognizing that the internal response followed by the servicescape influences on the job satisfaction.
