    (Abstract)

In 21st century floral formative arts, Flob(Floral Objet) is establishing itself as a new formative language with its focus on figure-centered formative characteristics while seekingafter the freedom of new artistic expressions. Flob has expanded the meanings of arts and suggested a new aesthetic meaning with its experimental method of expression.

However, a definite concept of Flob has not been established, nor has its way of expression been studied or suggested due to its short history. Accordingly, this research inquired into its characteristic together with its historical considerations; as a result, this research found out that Flob, as a transition of a shape giving life to the characteristic of materials, is a work expressed by using a format of Collage or Assemblage in objet art.

Thus, this research suggested a way of its expression for Flob to establish itself as a genre of floral formative art in formative arts through the interpretation of Flob's aesthetic viewpoint and diverse techniques and as a result of making efforts to set a frame for expansion and foundation of floral formative art as a chapter of a new modern arts by setting up its aesthetic, artistic value.
Flob is a creative, experimental object by a creator-recomposed unique way of expression through the interpretation of plant materials; in addition, there is no limit to the use of materials and Flob is a formative art recreated through a creator's own unique aesthetic consciousness on the basis of values and philosophical ideas away from the format of a traditional floral formative art.

To take a look at the properties of materials used in Flo, this research analyzed the sorts of plants, shapes in use, and combination forms by collecting 200 works; as a result, the most used material is a tree leaf accounting for 6.6%; cut-off leaves accounting for 33.1% in shape and cut-off leaves covering 26% even in combination shapes, thus, showing that cut-off leaves are the most suitable material for the expression of Flob.

A representative way of expression used in the formation of Flob is Collage and Assemblage of objet art, and among the floral formative techniques used in the expression of Collage topped a Layering technique, covering 17.5%. Thus, a Layering technique was found to be the most suited one for creating the beauty of a plane with a change of surface texture of an object having its basic shape and change of colors.

Among the floral formative techniques used in the way of expression of Assemblage excelled a Gluing technique, covering 36%. The Gluding technique was found to be the most suited for creating diverse visual effects, such as assembly-aided change of surface texture, emphasis on colors and movement, and volume, etc.

This research could imbue concrete, subjective, suggestive and figurative symbolism by inducing a change of expressional texture, change of colors, and change of shapes through the combination of Flob. In other words, Flob has a lot of effects on the expression of symbolism and its diverse formative expressions through the medium of symbolic expression has made it possible to express metaphorical expression.
As a result of doing research on diverse ways of expression in Flob through this researcher's work, Flob-Collage, which belongs to the expression pattern of Flob formation using a Collage technique, is expressed as a new visual language through a mixed composition of a two-dimensional pictorial element and three-dimensional plant materials.

Flob-Collage, which could be a discovery of a new formative element by formal mutation, is an outcome through the re-composition of repetitious arrangement combination using dynamic techniques, such as Layering, Linking, Weaving, Striping, and Wrapping on a basic frame having a certain shape. Such a free expression pattern and texture arrangement of Flob-Collage makes it possible to express anything concrete or abstract and it can create diverse visual effects, such as a sense of pattern, unity, movement, balance, and order, finally representing contingency and play character with its focus on pictorial characteristics of a surface.

Flob-Assemblage created an original, artistic formative properties as an expression pattern of Flob by borrowing an Assemblage technique of objet art. Also, it created limitlessly proliferating visual effects including a sense of movement and direction, etc. by re-composing the new formative elements through the process of revising and changing the colors, texture, and shape of materials using artificial manipulation in the mode of repetition, accumulation and assembly relying on Staking, Piling, Twisting, Rolling, Binding, Striping, Gluing, Standing, Sticking, and Winding according to a creator's formative intention.

Flob-Assemblage is used for symbolical expressions by arousing emotional effects, such as a sense of order, unity, rhythm, proliferation, and concentration through the emphasis on the movement by the change of texture and colors while highlighting a sense of substance and contingency with a free modeling.

Flob-Col-Assemblage, as an expression pattern of Flob borrowing a Collage technique of Objet art and an Assemblage technique at the same time, created infinitely proliferating effects, such as sense of unity, balance, movement, and direction, etc. by re-composing new formative elements discovered by shape variations using an accumulated combination as an expression technique according to a creator's intention.

This researcher created Flob-Collage and Flob Assemblage, new formative expression techniques in the field of floral formation through the actual Flob-aided works which were created through the use of diverse floral expression techniques of Collage and Assemblage patterns. In addition, this researcher thinks that Flob is showing a possibility as a formative art field representing the aspects of soft sculpture by the nature of its materials and also as a genre of an original floral formation showing developmental potentiality, and discovered that the features of pictorial poem of Flob are being emphasized all the more.
