(Abstract)
Jagyeongjeon-Jinjak-Jeongnye-Uigwe and Deongni-Uigwe are of great value as a material in the way that it is the only Hangeul Uigwe among Uigwe contatined in Kyujang-gak and Jangseo-gak. This paper is the purpose on finding out the Korean features and the value as the material of Korean history on Jagyeongjeon-Jinjak-Jeongnye-Uigwe and Deongni-Uigwe. Hangeul Uigwe translated Chinese characters Uigwe is very valuable for checking the Korean information directly about transcription by borrowed characters. The following items summarize the result of the argument.
1) The research looks through the morphologic bibliography and the included contents in the second chapter.
First, Jagyeongjeon-Jinjak-Jeongnye-Uigwe is about the royal court banquet at Jagyeongjeon in 1823. It is published in 1828 to be read the queen and the crown prince. It is made up of the contents focused on the related documents and is the same contents and formation as the book in Chinese characters ≪慈慶殿進爵整禮儀軌≫.
Secondly, Deongni-Uigwe is about the honored traveling of the King Jeongjo, the celebration of the birth for the queen Hyegyeong, and the contents about building Hwaseong Fortress. It is featured not classified the documents by sorts, but included by the order of the date. The same contents are scattered in Ilseong-nok, Hwaseong-seongyeog-uigwe and Wonhaeng-jeongnye. Most parts of the 40th volume, the 46th volume through the 48th volume about 'Hwaseong Fortress' correspond to the contents of Hwaseong-seongyeog-uigwe.
Jagyeongjeon-Jinjak-Jeongnye-Uigwe and Deongni-Uigwe included other periods of the royal events in Hanguel. Jagyeongjeon-Jinjak-Jeongnye-Uigwe classified the documents, but Deongni-Uigwe did not classify the documents. It included the order of the date. In spite of the same Hanguel-Uigwe, the formation has a remarkable contrast.
2) The research examines the transcription and the phoneme.
First, Jagyeongjeon-Jinjak-Jeongnye-Uigwe and Deongni-Uigwe look similar on the phonological structure. In the initial sound, the transcription of the fortis of ‘ㄱ’ and ‘ㄷ’ do not appear ‘ㅲ’, ‘ㅳ’. This is the same general tendency as the documents in the early of 19 century.
Second, It appears the transcription of the separated spelling. The separated spelling is in the order of ‘uninflected words>inflected words’. In uninflected words, a final consonant becomes the continuous spelling and the double spelling in case of ‘ㅅ’ and ‘ㅈ’ consonants. In the same vocabulary, the uninflected words have many separated spellings, and the inflected words have a high frequency of the continuous spellings.
Third, both documents have a strong conservation on the transcription of ‘ㆍ’. In the 15th century, the vocabulary marked ‘ㆍ’ used as it was. There are many examples using ‘ㆍ’ when ‘ㆍ’ and ‘ㅏ’ or ‘ㅡ’ appeared the confused transcription.
Fourth, Vowel rounding, Vowel fronting, Umlut of both documents appeared at all low reflection rate. The palatalization of the native language appears 100% realization rate, but Deongni-Uigwe shows 40% realization rate. The reflection of palatalization in Deongni-Uigwe shows in the order of ‘Non head-word>Head-word’, ‘Lexical morpheme>Grammatical morpheme’, ‘Connective ending>Final ending’, ‘Aspirated sound>Unaspirated sound’. The reflection of palatalization in Deongni-Uigwe is more conservative than Jagyeongjeon-Jinjak-Jeongnye-Uigwe. With the reference to Jagyeongjeon-Jinjak-Jeongnye-Uigwe published in 1828, it is inferred that the published period of Deongni-Uigwe is not more than the early of 19 century.
3) This research examines the features of formation with categorizing the title of various objects in the fifth chapter. At the same time, the transcriptions of Hanguel and Borrowed character were analyzed in the view of word formation for the vocabulary with 1:1 correspondence.
First, The vocabulary formation analyzed with classifying into the title of food, foodstuff, container, cooking tools, construction materials, and instruments.
Most of head words focused the meanings have complex formations which are put before ‘material, condition, color, size, form, use, and habitat’. The most productive element of forming Hyponym is ‘material’ and ‘size’. ‘size’ used in all titles except the food title. In the case of appearing plural transcription, the vocabulary adding the visual meaning preceded. Generally, the cognitive process perceiving the difference of objects through the sense of sight reflected in the language expression.
Second, the vocabulary formation has a high rate of Chinese character compared with the native language. The high rate of Chinese character is also the vocabulary feature shown in Hanguel Uigwe.
Third, the transcription by borrowed characters corresponded with the single words has a great tendency of Chinese reading of the characters. The transcription by borrowed characters of ‘加里亇, 古沙里, 落蹄, 周巪, 酒煎子’ corresponded with ‘가리마, 고사리, 낙졔, 쥬걱, 쥬젼’ are read the characters in Chinese reading. The transcription by borrowed characters of ‘甑, 木臼’ corresponded with ‘실우/시로, 졀구’ are read in Korean reading of Chinese characters. Among the 49 single words of analyzed objects, this two cases are read in Korean reading of Chinese characters.
Fourth, the transcription by borrowed characters corresponded with the compound words has a high tendency of Korean reading of Chinese characters. The transcription by borrowed characters ‘油機, 齒瓢子, 竹篩, 擔桶, 葉匙, 篩橋’ corresponded with ‘기틀, 니나모박, 대체, 몔통/멜통, 입슐, 체리’ are read in Korean reading of Chinese characters. The transcription by borrowed characters ‘於音炙, 擔乼, 鐵工伊, 甑本, 茶板’ corresponded with ‘느름젹, 몔줄, 쇠공이, 시로본, 차반’ are read in Chinese-Korean reading or Korean-Chinese reading of Chinese characters. Among 66 vocabularies of analyzed objects, the transcription by borrowed characters corresponded with Korean transcription in Chinese reading is 27 items, Korean reading is 11 items, and Chinese-Korean reading or Korean-Chinese reading is 28 items.
Fifth, the transcription by borrowed character corresponded with derivational words does not have an example of Chinese reading. The transcription by borrowed characters ‘古乭朴, 昆者巽, 杻籠, 香串之’ corresponded with ‘고돌박이, 곤쟈손이, 튝농이, 향지’ are read in Chinese reading. The transcription by borrowed characters ‘於音味, 陶所湯, 燭匠’ corresponded with ‘느미, 질바탕이, 쵸장이’ are read in Korean-Chinese reading. Derivational words are mainly formed combining with the suffix ‘-이’, but the corresponded form in Korean transcription does not show in the transcription by borrowed characters.
Sixth, the same Chinese character in the transcription by borrowed characters appears Chinese reading and Korean reading together in the correspondence of the Korean transcription. ‘水’ and ‘鐵’ are read in Chinese reading in ‘슈쟝, 슈철’, ‘쇠공이, 쇠모로’ each, and are read in Korean reading in ‘무쟝, 믈독’, ‘쳘마치, 쳘모로’. In the previous study, ‘眞-’ read into suffix ‘참-’ in Korean reading is drawn out that ‘진-’ is read in Chinese reading on ‘眞末, 眞墨’ corresponded with ‘진말, 진믁’.
4) This research looks through the aspect of Korean annotation of Chinese characters and Idu characters of Hanguel Uigwe using the parallel materials of ‘Chinese character text:Hanguel text’, ‘Idu text:Korean annotation text.’
First, the annotation of Chinese character has a difference with the original text in ellipsis, reduction, extension, error, word order, and phrasal change. However, it accomplishes Korean annotation as far as it does not ruin the meaning of the original text.
Second, in Hanguel Uigwe, the formal part of the date and the text types are omitted in Korean annotation. This can be pulled out the Korean annotation for attendants of the royal court.
Third, in Idu text, there are two types of Korean annotation; liberal translation with the context by the intention of Korean annotator and literal translation with reading sounds of Idu. ‘是白如乎, 是白乎, 是白乎, 是置有亦, 亦爲有如乎, 是白去乎, 爲有置’ in Idu text are corresponded with the connective endings; ‘-니, -디니/지니, -기의, -기(로)’ in Korean annotation text. Idu morphemes ‘乎, 亦, 置’ have a function of ‘cause’. In ‘敎是置, ‘爲白齊, 爲有置’, reading sounds are reflected on Korean annotation as they are, but the reading sounds of ‘니시두, 졔, 올져, 뎌, 윳두’ do not appear in Idu text.
