영상 매체를 이용한 고등학교 음악 감상 수업 연구

With the rapid development of science in modern society, various media have been positioned as one of the life aspects in human society. In the education field, to adjust to the information oriented and pluralistic aspects of the 21st century's society, use of these media is unavoidable. It is necessary to move to the student oriented education breaking out of the traditional teacher oriented class.
On this, I have worked on a provision of「A Study on the High School Music Appreciation Class Using Image Media 」as a way of student oriented education based on the appreciation field that is easily approachable for everybody since it does not need any technical matters.
For the theoretical background of the use of image media, the study reviewed the research data of SOKONI Corp. in America and preceding studies on 'the features of five senses'. In these studies, they provided strong evidence for the effectiveness using vision and listening at the same time rather than only listening. In 'The Development of the Auditory Memory and Visual Memory in Each Age', this study verified that the effectiveness of the class combining vision and listening together in grade 10 students is coming from the stronger visual memory of the students, and thus provided the theoretical evidence for the class using the image media.
Based on the contents and structure of the high school appreciation section in the 7th educational curriculum combined with these theoretical basis,「A Study on the High School Music Appreciation Class Using Image Media」drew the teaching plans of 「Piano No2. Concerto Movement」,「Erlkönig D.328」by Schubert,「Le Barbier de Séville」by Rossini,「I Will Follow Him」from the movie "Sister Act, 1992",「Memory」from the musical "Cats" in the high school classes. The effects from the music appreciation class are summarized as follows.
First, the students showed stronger interest to the music appreciation aided by image media instead of boring music appreciation before and thus displayed better concentration.
Second, after the music appreciation, the students became more curious about the musical pieces.
Third, the students who took the class showed strong wants for the use of image media in further music classes.
The use of image media could draw the broad musical potential of the students. This can be a useful tool for both of teachers and students, and appropriate use of it will be helpful in the movement to the student oriented class.
