(Abstract)
The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of negative parental attitude, attachment, and the fear of abandonment that has on psychological maladjustment of children with comparison between both parents family and divorced family, and subjects of this study were 413 students who were in 4~6 grade of elementary school.
The main results of this study are as follows.
First, there was significant difference in negative parental attitude, the fear of abandonment, and psychological maladjustment according to fosterer, but there is not significant difference in attachment. That is, negative parental attitude in divorced single father's family and divorced single mother's family was more negative than that in non-divorced family(bott parents family), feels more the fear of abandonment, and psychological maladjustment was more negative. But there was no signifiant difference in negative parental attitude, attachment, and psychological maladjustment between divorced single father's family and divorced single mother's family.
Second, for all subjects of this study(children in both parents family and divorced parents family), the influence of parental attitude, attachment, and the fear of abandonment that has on psychological adjustment was significant. That is, psychological adjustment of child was more negative as parental attitude was more negative, psychological adjustment was more positive as attachment was higher, and psychological adjustment was more negative as the fear of abandonment was higher. Thus it can be considered that in order of negative parental attitude, the fear of abandonment, and attachment, they have more influence on psychological maladjustment in order.
Third, the influence of negative parental attitude and attachment that has on psychological maladjustment of children in divorced parents family was significant, but the influence of fear of abandonment was not significant.
The meaning of this study is as follows. First, there was no significant difference between divorced single father's family and divorced single mother's family in comparing the difference of parental attitude, attachment, the fear of abandonment, and psychological adjustment according to fosterer(both parents family/divorced single father's family/divorced single mother's family). Second, for all subjects of this study, the fear of abandonment had an influence on psychological adjustment, and the fear of abandonment did not have a significant influence on psychological adjustment of children in divorced parents family.
