This survey was conducted to investigate the consumption behaviors for preference of branded pork and imported pork including consumer's prospects for branded pork.
Data were collected throughout questionnaires from a total of 253 consumers on February, 2008.
The results obtained were as follows ;
1. 54.0% of consumers responded that they preferred brand-pork as 「moderate」. Secondly, they showed preference of brand-pork of 41.7%.
The significant differences were not statistically shown all in educational group and living area group, respectively.
However, there was significant difference among yearly income class(p<0.05). Consumers with high income preferred more branded-pork than those in low income.
2. 64.6% of consumers did not like the imported pork. There were no significant differences both in educational and living area groups. However, the significant difference was found in yearly income class(p<0.05). Accordingly, consumers with low income did not like imported pork, but those with high income preferred that.
3. Consumer's prospects for consumption of brand-pork were bright(53.6%). The significant differences were not statistically all found in educational, living area and yearly income groups, respectively. However, consumer's prospects for brand-pork in high educational class as well as high income groups have tendency to be bright in the future.
