Abstract
With taking 260 of regular members(professional), associate members(semiprofessional) and amateurs as subjects of study and dividing them into 3 groups by their skill level and results of this study obtained by analyzing the effects of types of golfers' MBTI characters on anxieties in the state of competition through the examination of MBTI character type and anxieties in the state of competition are as follow.
There were statistically no meaningful differences in the types of MBTI characters by golfers' skill level but there were statistically meaningful differences in the types of MBTI characters by distinction of sex. The types of MBTI characters showed higher percentage in the order of ESTJ, ESTP, ISTJ and low percentage in ENTP, INFJ, INFP, ENFJ, INTJ.
There were statistically no meaningful differences in preference(E-I : Extroversion-Introversion, S-N : Sensation-Notion, T-F : Thought-Feeling, J-P : Judgment-Perception) of the types of MBTI characters by golfers' skill level and all golfers showed high preference in E, S, T, J.
There were statistically meaningful differences in preference of E-I(Extroversion-Introversion) by distinction of golfers' sex and there were statistically no meaningful differences in preference of S-N(Sensation-intuition), T-F(Thought-Feeling), J-P(Judgment-Perception). Both male and female golfers showed high preference in E, S, T, J.
There were statistically meaningful differences recognition anxieties and physical anxieties in the state of competition by golfers' skill level. All were shown low in the order of regular members(professional), associate members(semiprofessional), amateurs in recognizant and physical anxieties and the confidence was shown high in the order of regular members(professional), associate members(semiprofessional) and amateurs.
Among lower factors of anxieties in the state of competition by distinction of golfers' sex, the recognizant anxiety in the state of competition statistically showed no meaningful differences but the physical anxiety in the state of competition and confidence statistically showed meaningful differences. Female players showed higher level of anxiety than male players in recognizant and physical anxieties and high level in confidence
