초등학교 저·중·고 학년용 진로교육프로그램 개발 및 효과 검증 = (The) development of a career education program for the lower, middle, and higher graders in elementary schools and the verification of its effect

The objective of this study is to develop a career education program for elementary school students who are in the lower, middle, and higher grade and to verify its effect.
To achieve the purpose, based on the theoretical study about the concept of career development for children and its features and on the analysis of the existing career programs, a new career education program was developed in this study. To obtain the validity of the development of the career program, it was analyzed, designed, developed, implemented, and evaluated by the ADDIE model, with the help of six experts including a person with a doctoral degree in the field of career education, three teachers who are working in elementary schools and completed doctor's course related to career education, and two persons with master's degree.
To implement the career program for children, this study was intended for sixty students, who are in the first, third, and fifth grade of G elementary school which is located in Sihung-Si. The students were divided into two groups for the research, an experimental group and a control group. The thirty students of the experimental group were taught with the developed program directly by the researcher and the thirty students of the other group was assigned to the other class. Also, to verify the effect of the program, the ANCOVA analysis was conducted.
The main results of this study were as follows.
The development of a career program was processed by following the ADDIE model, analyzing literature, needs, and tasks, describing the purpose of performance based on the result of the task analysis. To validate the program, the developed career education program was implemented in the real school setting. The experts' examination confirmed that the components and structure of the career program are proper.
Next, for the verification of the effect of the career program, a prior and a post test were carried out using a career development test and the ANCOVA analysis was conducted. The results confirmed that the program was effective for the enhancement of career development in all the groups including the lower, middle, and higher graders. Actually, the program was effective in 'positive self-concept', 'awareness about interpersonal relations', and 'growth and change', which are subordinate concepts of the 'self-awareness' area. Also, the program was effective in 'awareness about academic achievement', 'understanding and application of career information', 'understanding about basic experiences of work', and 'positive attitude on work', which are subordinate concepts of the 'academic/vocational exploration' area. Similarly, the program was effective in all the four subordinate concepts of the 'career plan' area such as 'understanding about decision making process', 'plans for life and work', 'understanding about career planning process', and 'setting up the purpose of life'.
This study was focused on improving the career development of elementary students and tried to apply the career program, on the one hand, to the students considering their development stages, on the other hand, to the teachers. Therefore, the study will contribute to both students and teachers in that it will help students receive and participate in career education voluntarily and enjoy it and it will provide teachers with a career education program and help them guide and instruct students easily and effectively.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동의 진로발달능력 향상에 도움이 되는 초등학교 저ㆍ중ㆍ고학년용 진로교육프로그램을 개발한 후 그 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이와 같은 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 다음과 같이 연구를 실시하였다.
첫째, 초등학생의 진로발달 능력을 향상시키기 위한 저ㆍ중ㆍ고 학년용 진로교육프로그램을 개발하였다. 즉, 초등학생 시기의 진로발달의 개념과 특성 및 발달과업에 대해 이론적으로 탐색하고 기존의 국내ㆍ외 진로교육프로그램을 분석한 뒤 이를 토대로 초등학생의 진로발달능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 진로교육프로그램을 개발하였다(연구Ⅰ). 진로교육프로그램 개발의 타당성을 확보하기 위해 ADDIE 모형에 따라 '분석', '설계', '개발', '실행', '평가'의 단계를 거쳤으며, 제작된 프로그램의 각 단계별 내용에 대해 전문가들의 타당성 검증을 받았다. 전문가 집단은 진로교육 관련 박사학위소지자 1인과 초등학교 현장교사로서 진로교육 관련하여 박사과정 수료 교사 3인, 석사학위 소지 2인으로 총 6명으로 구성하였다.
둘째, 개발된 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 시흥시 G초등학교 1, 3, 5학년 2개반씩 각 60명을 대상으로 초등학교 저ㆍ중ㆍ고 학년용 진로교육프로그램을 실시하였다. 학년별로 실험집단 30명은 연구자가 프로그램을 실행하였으며, 나머지 통제집단 30명으로 설정하였다. 프로그램은 3개월에 걸쳐 1학년은 13회기, 3학년은 14회기, 5학년은 14회로 적용되었으며 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위해 사전ㆍ사후 결과에 대해 공변량분석(ANCOVA) 검증을 실시하였다.
본 연구를 통하여 확인된 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 진로교육프로그램 개발절차는 ADDIE 모형을 따랐다. 개발과정을 보면 문헌분석과 요구분석을 거쳐 그 결과에 기초해서 발달과제를 도출하였고, 도출된 과제결과를 기초해 수행목표를 진술하였다. 각 수행목표를 효과적으로 성취하기 위해 진로발달 수업모형을 개발하였으며, 수업목표와 교수전략(단계별 프로그램)을 토대로 실제 학교현장에서 실행하고 평가하였다. 이러한 과정에 대해 전문가의 검토를 거친 결과 개발된 진로교육프로그램의 구성요소와 구조가 대체로 타당한 것으로 확인되었다.
둘째, 진로교육프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위해 진로발달검사지를 이용하여 사전ㆍ사후 검사를 실시하고 그 결과에 대해 공변량 분석을 하였다. 분석결과 이 실험에 참여한 저학년, 중학년, 고학년 집단 모두에서 자아인식, 학업ㆍ직업탐색, 진로계획 영역의 진로발달이 신장된 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 자아인식영역의 하위영역인 '긍정적 자아 개념', '대인관계 인식', '성장과 변화'에서 모두 효과가 있는 것으로 나왔고, 학업ㆍ직업탐색의 하위영역인 '학업성취 인식', '진로정보 이해활용', '일에 대한 기초 경험이해', '일에 대한 긍정적 태도' 에서도 모두 효과가 있는 것으로 나왔으며, 진로계획 영역에서도 '의사결정과정 이해', '삶과 일에 대한 설계', '진로계획과정 이해', '진로목표 설정' 등 4개 하위영역 모두 효과가 있는 것으로 나왔다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 개발한 초등학교 저ㆍ중ㆍ고학년용 진로교육프로그램은 학생들의 진로발달을 향상시키는데 효과적인 것으로 확인되었다.
본 연구는 초등학생 진로발달의 향상 초점을 맞추어 초등학생의 발달 단계에 맞게 진로교육프로그램을 적용하여 학생에게는 자기 주도적으로 참여하여 재미있게 진로교육을 받을 수 있고, 교사에게는 손쉽고 효과적으로 개발 적용ㆍ지도할 수 있는 진로교육프로그램을 제공했다는 점에서 그 가치를 찾을 수 있다.
