SAS PROC PANEL을 이용한 패널자료분석 = Analysis of Panel Data Using SAS PROC PANEL

국문 초록 (Abstract)

패널자료는 동일 표본으로부터 여러 시점에 걸쳐서 반복적으로 수집한 자료이다. 따라서 패널자료는 횡단면자료에 시계열자료의 형태가 추가된 자료로 볼 수 있으며, 주로 개인이나 가구, 기업들을 표본으로 하여 일정 주기마다 지속적으로 조사한다.
외국에서는 1900년대 중반 이후부터 패널자료를 구축해오고 있으며, 국내에서는 1990년대부터 연구기관을 중심으로 패널조사를 실시하고 있다. 조사된 자료는 많은 연구자들에 의해 분석되어 학술대회 등을 통해 논문이 발표되고 있으나, 적당한 통계분석도구의 부재로 다년도 자료를 이용한 패널분석은 많지 않은 것이 현실이다.
SAS PROC PANEL은 패널자료분석을 목적으로 개발된 도구로서 2009년 초에 SAS 9.2버전부터 정식으로 제공될 예정으로 있다. 이 학위논문에서는 패널자료분석에 대한 이론적인 접근과 아울러 국내 패널자료에 적용하여 다년도 자료를 이용한 패널분석을 실시하였다. SAS PROC PANEL의 사용방법을 설명하고, 이를 이용한 패널자료분석 경험 및 분석사례를 현장에 있는 분석가들에게 제공하는 것이 논문의 주된 목적이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Panel data is observed and collected repeatedly over time from the same sample. Therefore panel data is in the form of cross section data combined with time series data, and usually it is constructed from continuous surveys of individuals, households or companies.
Other countries have conducted panel surveys since the mid-1900s. On the other hand, in Korea it has been started since 1990 and maintained mostly by research institutions. The collected panel data is supplied every year to researchers who want to analyze it. However, most published papers have dealt with a one-year data set and only a few papers used the multi-year panel data, probably because proper statistical softwares are hard to find.
SAS PROC PANEL has been developed for the panel data analysis and it will be available from SAS version 9.2 in 2009. In this thesis we study the theory of the panel data analysis and analyze a multi-year data from a Korean panel data. The primary objective of this thesis is to explain the methods of PROC PANEL and to supply the experience and a prototype of panel data analysis to the researchers in this field.
