플라톤과 프뢰벨의 전인 교육을 위한 음악 교육관 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

7차 교육 과정에서는 그 이전에 다루지 않았던 다양한 음악 요소들을 교육 내용으로 폭넓게 수용하였다. 그러나 새롭게 수용된 음악 요소들의 교육 방안이 충분히 계발되지 못하여, 교육자와 학습자 모두에게 난해한 교육 과정으로 여겨지며 학습 의욕이 저하되는 문제점이 발생하였다.이에 대해 교육과정평가원이 내놓은 개정안에서는 음악 교육이 음악 기능 학습을 위한 교육에 그치지 않고 사회 속에서의 음악의 역할과 가치를 이해하게 하여 학생이 실생활에서 음악을 접하며 전인적 성장을 추구해나가는 지표를 형성하게 하였다는 점에서 고무적인 성과로 보인다.음악 교육을 통해 인간의 전인적 성장을 이루려는 시도는 음악을 통한 인간 도야를 꿈꾸었던 최초의 시기인 고대 그리스 시대 플라톤의 사상에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 플라톤은 기예의 학습에 머물렀던 당시의 음악 교육이 인간 도야를 위한 교육으로 나아가도록 새롭게 음악 교육 목적과 이념을 정립하고, 이를 위한 교육 방법 원리를 제시하였다. 또한 19세기 신인문주의 교육 사상가 프뢰벨은 고대로부터의 인류의 인간 도야를 위한 모든 노력을 당대의 사상적 배경 하에서 종합해내는 시도를 하면서 음악 교육이 전인 교육으로서 구체화될 수 있는 체계적인 방법을 그의 철학 사상을 바탕으로 제시하였다.본 연구에서는 플라톤과 프뢰벨의 음악 교육관에 나타나는 당대 교육 위험성의 성찰과 이를 극복하려는 시도를 살펴봄으로 음악 교육의 전인 교육으로서 의 역할과 교육 방법에 대한 이해를 얻고자 한다.플라톤의 음악 교육관을 이해하기 위하여 고대 그리스 시대 교육이 추구하였던 바와 당대 교육의 문제점을 플라톤이 인식하게 된 배경에 대하여 설명하고 당대 교육의 문제점을 어떻게 극복하였는지를 ?국가?를 통하여 살펴보았다. 다음으로 19세기에 근대의 분열된 인간상을 고대를 이상으로 통합적으로 회복하려는 신인문주의 교육 사상가 프뢰벨의 음악 교육관과 전인 음악 교육 방법을 ?인간 교육?과 ?어머니의 노래와 애무의 노래?를 통하여 보았다. 프뢰벨의 교육 사상이 당대 신인문주의 사상가들의 어떤 면에 기반 하는지를 먼저 설명하였고 이들이 주장한 전인 교육으로서 예술 교육의 효과적 측면을 프뢰벨이 어떻게 구체화 하였는지를 이해하려 하였다.마지막으로 지금까지 살펴본 두 사상가의 관점이 ‘이상주의’ 교육 철학적 관점임을 설명하고, 이러한 관점에서 두 사상가가 음악 교육을 전인 교육으로 어떻게 활용하였는지를 제시하였다. 아리스토텔레스와 로크 등의 ‘실재주의’ 는 ‘이상주의’ 관점이 주관성에 치우쳐 학문의 객관성을 경시한다는 한계를 지적 하지만 당대의 이상적 인간상에 부합하는 소중한 가치에 이르는 효과적 전인 음악 교육의 역할을 중시한 점은 높이 평가할 만하다.교육자는 플라톤과 프뢰벨의 음악 교육관에서 전인 교육으로서 음악 교육의 다양한 가능성을 확인함으로 전인 음악 교육에 매진하고 전인 음악 교육의 가치가 드러나는 교육 방법을 모색하도록 격려 받을 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the Seventh Education Training Course, some of the music factors which have not been dealt before are now accepted widely as an important means of education. However, the newly introduced music factors did not meet to the standard therefore it led to leaving the learner and the educator in a difficult situation thus causing the downfall of an education. In order to solve this problem, the people in charge of Education brought about some reforms. They wanted to highlight that music education may have some affect to the Society and this can create an utmost atmosphere for the learners. The Music Education did not only cover skill but further reached out playing an important role in the society creating an atmosphere for the learners to understand about music and experiment in their daily life and thus this indicates that the learners have become a whole person and this shows a encouraging result.Moreover, an attempt on how whole person came about is through the help of music education and this may be found in an early Greek period Plato's history. While Plato was studying about art at that time, he also focused on the new goal and ideology of music education and suggested on the new method of education. Moreover, during the 19th Century, one of the new humanist philosopher called Fr?bel tried to combine all efforts of means of building up a whole person. He found his research from the ancient period and portrayed a systematic philosophy method about music education.In this research, I am trying to discuss about the negative and positive points of Plato and Fr?bel's music education and see how they can be responsible on making a whole person, and by which education method could be suitable.In order to understand Plato's music education, I discussed above about what the early Greek education seeks for and the problems aroused from it were solved by Plato. In speaking of the day education problem and how he solved it is written in his book called ?The Nation?.Moreover, the illuminism year in the 19th Century caused humans' rational and emotional feelings to break down. Having used as to show the wholeness of a person this was done by new humanist education philosopher, Fr?bel, a person who started with the new system of education. He wrote down the method of education in his two books called ?The Education of man? and ?Mother's songs, games, and stories?. In this book he wrote about the new humanist and their ways of expressing education and also explained about how art and music affects people and discussed the advantages of education.Plato and Fr?bel's Music Theory both have a scientific point of view in relation to education. Lastly the two theorists have been discussed are idealists. From this angle, we can see the difference and know the means of education.Aristotle and Locke looking from the reality, the idealist view moves more to subjective and causes the negative side to the learners' but music education leads to great achievement to learners' which is highly acknowledged as a standard level education.Plato and Fr?bel's education encourages the educators to hold the responsibility and take pride. From their education theory, education is shown from various point of view and therefore the educator who is teaching in real may concentrate more in making a person into a whole person.
