건축외피에 있어서의 LED조명의 표현기법에 관한 연구

The building surface is one of factors at structure for a long time. So every factors such as a size and layout of the window, thickness of the wall subsist upon a structure instead of design. Instead of the surface expression, made grace with material and decoration under structure for make construction before have an advanced architectural technology.But now a days, the building surface is getting free owe to the development of structural mechanics, has a great notion that gets out of the subordinate from structure, it is a emphasized factor with expression and self-control. The building surface makes an effort to accept the development and changing of modern technology. It should show that there role and function is changing constantly according to a new technology, and it gave a motivation for re-analysis about existence and role of the building surface.In the result of survey, focus on the development and propensity, think about the meaning of building surface at modern architecture, and the case of mess media surface in modern architecture of the new urban space with media, classify the information with type and character. The purpose of this research is that look around the feature of surface which use LED technology then modern architecture`s find media expression.Using LED light is not common, we can find lots of the case with LED light, though.First of all, when I analysis the data, most of the case just use LED light as a sign. But the endeavor for using diversity place looks better.Now a days, special building surface plan and one factor of using that is getting more important with variety needs. Surface uses as a design factor and make its shape looks better at the country using LED light before us, in there, think about LED tech. when they make a plan, otherwise the function of LED makes good effect to building.It a factor of scenery plan in comfortable housing environment and a new media tendency get lead of the communication with user, is unknown because of the result of indiscretion remodeling. It is the time,using as a positive factor from architectural planning.Expression techniques of LED is changing from negative meaning to mess media. It is changing as a space the user be a actor, the story like a sound track or stage staff be a background.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지난 수세기 동안 건축외피는 기둥과 더불어 건물의 구조체의 역할을 해왔다. 따라서 창의 크기 및 배치, 벽체 두께 등 모든 요소들은 디자인적 요소 보다는 구축 속에서 존재하였다. 건축기술이 발달하기 전의 상황에서는 건축외피의 표현보다는 구축 그 자체에 큰 비중을 두어 구축을 위한 구조가 형성되면 구조의 기능을 저해하지 않는 범위 내에서 재료나 장식적 요소를 더하여 건축미를 완성하였다.하지만 근대이후 건축의 외피는 건축기술의 발달로 인하여 과거에 비해 자유로워졌으며, 그러한 기술의 발달로 인해 건축의 외피는 반드시 구조적인 기능을 하여야 한다는 종속관계에서 벗어나 표현과 자율성이 강조된 하나의 건축적 요소로서 새로운 요소의 역할을 나타내는 경향을 보이고 있다. 또한 건축의 외피는 현대의 테크놀로지의 발전 및 변화를 적극적으로 수용하려는 현상도 나타내고 있다. 이는 테크놀로지의 변화에 따라 건축외피의 역할 및 기능 또한 끊임없이 변화하고 있음을 보여주고 있으며, 건축에서 외피의 존재 및 역할에 대한 재해석을 위한 동기를 제공하고 있다.본 연구는 이러한 발전과 성향에 주목하고 현대건축에서 외피의 표현의미에 대해 살펴보며, 미디어 화되는 도시공간속에서 현대건축의 미디어로서의 LED조명 특성과 이에 따라 표현기법의 유형과 특성을 분류하고, LED 조명을 활용한 외피의 적용실태를 구체적으로 조사 및 분석하여 현대건축 외피의 LED조명을 활용한 미디어적 표현기법을 연구하는데 목적이 있다.아직 국내의 LED 조명을 건축적으로 활용이 미비한 단계이지만 다양한곳에서 건축외피의 활용 요소로서의 LED 조명의 사례를 볼 수 있고 상업건축뿐 만아니라 공공건물 등으로 확대되고 있다.우선 조사 대상들을 분석해본 결과, 국내 대부분의 대상물들이 확장된 전광판 혹은 미디어월로서의 활용 수준에 그치는 결과가 나왔지만, 다양한 건물에서 다양한 표현기법이 시도되는 추세이다.다양한 요구가 쏟아지는 오늘날 독특한 건축 외피의 계획과 그 요소로서 LED 조명의 활용은 중요도가 더해 가고 있다. 우리보다 앞선 시기 LED조명의 도입을 추진하던 나라에서는 외피의 디자인적 요소로서의 다양한 표현 기법이 활발하게 진행되고 있고, 설계 단계부터 LED의 활용이 고려되어, 오히려 그 기능이 건축물을 돋보이게 하는 효과를 보인다. 하지만 국내에서는 리모델링의 결과물, 혹은 주변 건물과의 경쟁적 활용으로 인하여 쾌적한 주거환경속의 경관 계획적 요소, 사용자와의 커뮤니케이션을 주도하는 뉴 미디어적 경향으로서의 적극적인 LED 조명의 표현은 미흡하며, 건축 계획 단계에서부터 신중히 검토된, 보다 적극적인 입면 요소로서의 활용이 필요한 시기이다.현대건축 외피의 LED조명의 표현기법 적용은 기존 건축의 수동적인 정적인 개념에서 도시, 사람과 이야기를 들려주고 정보를 제공하는 동적이며 상호작용하는 미디어적인 개념으로 변화시키고 있다. 즉, 건축이 영화의 배경음악이나 무대 장치와 같이 이야기가 배경이 되며, 사용자가 배우가 되어 역할을 하는 공간으로 변화하고 있다.
