    We need to have a person with Self-directed learning skill for the fast changing time like now. For this, we used meta-cognitive strategy to teach math so we can study Self-directed learning skill.
    To study this, we came up with these questions.
    Does Self-directed learning skill program using meta-cognitive strategy advance the learner's Self-directed learning skill?
    Does Self-directed learning skill program using meta-cognitive strategy help to accomplish a task?
    Does Self-directed learning skill program using meta-cognitive strategy have any effects on the learners' meta-cognitive skills?
    The Meta-cognitive strategy can tell you about your cognitive skill and you can improve your learning ability by examining and evaluating your cognitive skill. The Self-directed learning skill let you participate the study meta~cognitively, motivating and with action.
    The Meta-cognitive concept and the Self-directed learning has many similar sides, therefore we studied cognitive and psychological effects that has on the learner in math class using meta-cognitive learning strategy. We used the meta-cognitive self-Speech that can be used in the Self-directed learning situation to see it's effects on a math class of third grade in middle school. We got these results.
    A class using the Meta-cognitive learning strategy has significant effects on improving the student's meta-cognitive skills. Before the test, it was 26.67 and after the test, it was 29.83. This was a significant change.
    The Meta-cognitive learning strategy does help to improve one's self-directed learning skill.
    It has positive effects on achieving the task. A class using Self-Speech that applied meta-cognitive strategy had a better learning ability.
