템플스테이의 운영현황과 활성화 방안연구 = A Study on the Situation and the Activation of Templestay

In 2004, Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism was established to develop and activate the world-wide interest about Korean Buddhism culture into the diversified cultural contents around 2002 Korean-Japanese World cup. It has gone by 4years that Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism was established to manage templestay. Although the public attention on templestay is increasing, the study that is concrete and systematic about templestay is insufficient.
From understanding of this problem, this study is to suggest ways to vitalize templestay and is to analyze the current condition of templestay operation for the better operation of templestay. The research which sees templestay arranged a circle justice from appearance background of the stay, Buddhism is introduced to Korea with historical era templestay history of three government policy godfather consideration time when, Korea time and muscle · today, investigated observed saw, a social · cultural context and an international instance with the background where the stay is formed a muscle · modern practice meeting development process and 2002 Korean-Japanese World Cup with opportunity templestay national, Buddhism vertical, investigated. Based on the temple which is run by the whole country 87 templestay and designated by current Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism on August 2008. First, the condition of templestay operation was investigated based on the temple run by templestay, the current condition of participant, the operation program, and the operation schedule etc. Second, the program of templestay was classified into basic form, accomplishment style, experience style, rest style, and mixture style and so on by types.
Also, the program of meditate accomplishment was analyzed into the Gahn-hwa-seon, Wipasana, ？n？p？nasati(contemplation of counting the breath), mixed style, Yeombulseon(recitation or invocation of the Buddha's name), meditate performance by method. Finally, in this research, the problems and the ways to vitalize of templestay is suggested. And among the analysis of the case of templestay, propagative aspect representing the importance of Buddhism was excluded.
Templestay accomplished a great deal. And it is cannot be ignored splendid achivement. Since 2002, originally, the purpose of templestay establishment was in providing a loading facility for locals and foreigner. But, by extension, in the research, some the ways to vitalize of templestay is suggested that templestay be developed into the cultural contents for introspection and self-realization of modern man. First, templestay must cultivate the professional manpower for the operation of the stay. Second, templestay quality of stay program and the brand painter is necessary. Three, templestay must improve the facility of the stay designation · operation Buddhist temple.
Four, templestay does to do a stay public information and a marketing actively. Fifth, templestay need to be evaluated and managed professionally. Six, templestay must improve a service about the stay participants.
Presented from above templestay the actualization of stay activation plan templestay the government which supports the stay operation, with Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism enterprising grade templestay the stay operation Buddhist temple the close coordination and to propel has the plan which is systematic and long-term. And the 21st century which we are living to inform the superiority of traditional culture and Buddhism culture of Korea to the cosmopolite and the moderns in the society where the culture of the form which is various coexists and experiences in order to activate the stay the opportunity which in order to provide templestay must endeavor actively.
