고등학생의 인터넷 중독과 문제행동 간의 관계 = Relationship between Internet Addiction and Problematic Behavior in High-school Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 인터넷 중독이 고등학생들의 문제행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 조사하여 인터넷 중독과 문제행동간의 관계를 살펴보고, 인터넷을 중독적으로 사용하지만 이에 영향을 적게 받아 문제행동을 일으키지 않거나 적게 일으키는 고등학생들의 특성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 그리고 인터넷 중독에 영향을 미치는 요인을 개인의 심리적 요인뿐만 아니라 환경적인 요인을 밝혀서 개인의 심리적인 요인과 함께 개인을 둘러싼 인터넷환경에 대한 개선방향의 탐색을 가능하게 하는 자료를 탐구하는데 목적을 두고 연구하였다.
이러한 연구 결과는 정보화로 인해 컴퓨터와 인터넷 중독이 갖는 고등학생의 생활지도상의 문제점의 해결책을 탐색하고 나아가서 각 급 학교의 컴퓨터와 인터넷의 건전한 사용 교육에 중요한 지침이 될 것을 기대하였다.
위와 같은 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해서 설정한 연구문제는 다음 세 가지로 잡았다.
첫째, 고등학생의 인터넷 사용 실태는 어떠한가?
둘째, 고등학생의 인터넷 중독을 유발하는 관련요인은 무엇인가?
셋째, 인터넷 중독과 문제행동간의 관계는 어떠한가?
그리고 본 연구에서는 인터넷의 중독에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요인들을 개인체계, 가족체계, 사회체계로 구분하였다. 개인체계에서는 자기 통제력과 익명성을 영향 요인으로 보았으며, 가족체계에서는 가족간의 관계가 청소년의 인터넷 중독에 영향을 주는 요인으로 보았다. 그리고 사회체계에서는 매슬로우의 발달단계에서 사랑과 소속의 욕구가 중요한 요인이기 때문에 또래의 지지를 주요 영향 요인으로 설정하였다. 그리고 개인, 가족, 사회체계의 다양한 변인 및 인구사회변인에 의해 초래되는 인터넷 중독은 청소년의 문제행동을 일으키는 매개체 역할을 하는 것으로 모형을 설정하였다.
본 연구를 위한 측정도구는 송원영(1998), 이봉희(1991), 이영자(1996), 안석(2000)등의 선행 연구에서 사용된 질문지를 참고로하여 제작하여 사용하였다. 구성 내용은 개인체계요인(자기통제력, 익명성), 가족체계 요인, 사회체계 요인, 인터넷 중독, 문제행동을 유출하는데 필요한 문항으로 구성하여 사용하였다.
본 연구의 조사 대상은 경기도 소재한 4개 고등학교에서 재학하는 1, 2학년 고등학생을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 배포된 설문지는 총 280부였으며, 이 중 268부가 수거되었다. 실제 분석에 사용된 자료는 응답이 불성실한 12부를 제외한 256부였다.
본 연구의 자료처리 및 분석을 위하여 SPSS/Windows(Ver 12.0)를 사용하였다. SPSS 통계 프로그램을 통하여 먼저 자료 입력 및 자료 정비를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료들 중에서, 개별 변인들 사이의 논리적 관계를 고려하여 타당치 않은 반응을 보인 사례는 무효 자료(missing data)로 처리하였다. 이러한 정비과정을 통하여 타당하다고 판단되는 유효 자료만을 대상으로 통계적 분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구에서 사용된 주요 통계 방법은 교차분석(X²검정), t 검정, 회귀분석이다. 인터넷 중독 집단과 비중독 집단간의 응답 비율 또는 점수의 차이를 검정하기 위해 교차분석(X²검정)과 t 검정을 실시하였으며, 인터넷 중독과 관련된 요인들을 탐색하고, 인터넷 중독과 문제행동간의 관계를 분석하기 위하여 회귀분석을 실시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine relationship between internet addiction and problematic behavior by surveying which effect the internet addiction has on problematic behavior in high-school students, and to examine characteristics in high-school students that don't cause or do cause less problematic behavior due to being influenced less by this in the face of using internet addictively. And, regarding factors of influencing internet addiction, the environmental factors as well as an individual's psychological factor are clarified. Thus, the research was performed with the aim of exploring data that allows the improvement direction to be inquired on internet environment of surrounding an individual along with an individual's psychological factor.
The conclusions in this study are as follows.
First, a place where Korea's high-school students use internet is mainly own house, thus there is necessity of recognizing that parents' guidance and interest at home are absolutely important. It is seen that there is necessity of noting that parents' interest and guidance on a child of using home-centered internet, not the addictive stage yet, have decisive influence upon preventing internet addiction.
Second, it is seen to be high in the addictive tendency when high-school student is using internet continuously for more than 1 hour. Internet sometimes becomes a means, which offers knowledge and information of supplementing or helping the learning in a school. However, a student, who is in front of a computer for more than 1 hour, is estimated to have many cases of being enthusiastic about a game or bad information.
Third, it is seen that there is no special difference in gender of man and woman in students with internet addiction. Accordingly, it is thought that there will be necessity of paying attention to that there is difference from reality in the prediction of common-sense line with saying that the ratio of causing problematic behavior due to internet addiction will be more in male students.
Fourth, the prediction that individual system, family system, and social system will become important factors on internet addiction is considered to be natural. In particular, parents will need to recognize desperately that the harmonious level among family members and the conversational level with parents have close relationship with a child's addictive use of internet.
Fifth, it was proved even in many prior researches. However, even in the results of this study, there is necessity of an effort to recognize more seriously and improve the environment in home and society regarding that the excessive use of internet has greatly bad effect on emotional disorder, moral disorder, and physical disorder. Particularly, there is necessity of enabling a mechanical device so that adolescents cannot get easy access to obscene site or entertainment internet game mall in adult society. What is important more than it is that there is necessity of reinforcing mental education, which makes it recognized on how harmful its damage is to nation and society as well as to an individual's condition when adolescents are addictive to internet
