Over the past few years a considerable number of studies have been made on Goryeo celadon chronology. But Few studies have used Goryeo celadon chronology. Therefore, this article considers main patterns of Goryeo tombs.
Divided into five chapters, this dissertation uses contextual seriation as a basic tool for the study.
The chapter one presents research background and issues. And also explains the subject of study and research methods.
The chapter two presents status of celadons from the Goryeo tombs in Yeongnam.
Chapter three presents the form classification of Goryeo celadons, explains relative dating through contextual seriation. And three different stage were established through an analysis of the celadon identified in the area, and its change process and characteristic were explored.
The fourth chapter examined Changes in the tombs, group tombs aspect of the configuration and funeral ceremony through tomb furnishings location and order of tomb furnishings. In addition, the artifact and tomb deduce the identity of the tomb of the hero. This means that a number of factors associated with grave ceremony and notion, want to restore the lifecycle of the face is the purpose of this dissertation.
as mentioned above, analysis of Goryeo celadon in tombs set the stage and was able to know the history of celadon. Also, consider that the history of the tomb, group tombs aspect of the configuration, funeral ceremony, and recognize the identity of the person buried in the tomb to put the focus. But the number of remains buried in a tomb that was hard enough look at the history of celadon. Moreover, the pattern is identified only Yeongnam region, so it is to difficult whether the general aspects or the regional aspects. Therefore, it needs further consideration. Much still remains to be done. In the future, if I comprehensive review historical research with the wider region, I will restore the character of funeral institution and a social aspect. Finally, I hope that the insufficient parts of this study will be complemented through the addition of new materials, including several unpublished reports of excavation.
