First, the emotional intelligence scores from experimental group treated with music therapy program are higher than those of controlled group which is not treated with music therapy program. Second, the adjustment scores to school life for experimental group are higher than those of controlled group.
The subjects are 60 students from two 5th grade classes at H elementary school located in a small city. The instruments used for this study are emotional intelligence test (Yoon, Hyunsoek, 1997) and adjustment test to school life (Yim, Jungsun, 1993).

One group was treated with music therapy program, the other was not. Music therapy program was organized, referring to references and previously performed research programs, then, carried out by the researcher after being consulted by experts in emotional intelligence field. The data has been processed with t-test statistically, producing the average of emotional intelligence scores and the range of variation of adjustment scores to school life.
The outcomes are as follows;
