청소년자원봉사활동의 만족도 및 활성화에 관한 연구 = A Study on Satisfaction and Activation to Adolescent`s Volunteer Activity

This study aims to understand adolescents volunteer activities's actual condition and adolescents's satisfaction to make data for activating volunteer activities.
Followings are questions in order to fulfill this study's goal.
First, How was like adolescents's volunteer activities?
Second, How adolescents recognize volunteer activities?
Third, How adolescents satisfied with volunteer activities?
Fourth, How to activate adolescents volunteer activities?
This study include 620 students in Seosan City and Dangjin Gun and these 620 students classified into 300 middle school students (male: 142, female: 158) and 304 high school students(male: 150, female: 154).
A method for this study involve questionnaire which researcher made and this questionnaire are examined by two adolescents volunteer specialists, two youth leaders and an adviser. Questionnaire in this research contain general questions for volunteer work, satisfaction for volunteer activities and solution to activate volunteer activities. This questionnaire was held in Oct 1 to 10, 2008.
An analysis for this study used frequency analysis to understand general questions. Satisfaction and activation of volunteer activities used t-test and chi-squire() by looking both sex and grades.
This study have following conclusion.
First, adolescents's motivation for volunteer activities was to enter school for higher grade and get a job.
Second, adolescents think that volunteer works are helping neighborhood by self-sacrifice.
Third, adolescents's satisfaction for volunteer works shows that volunteer activities are chances to experience and learn new things and to show caring for other people.
These are suggestions for this study.
First, school curriculum should include not only volunteer activities but also human nature education.
Second, various types of volunteer activities should be developed.
Third, special teachers who are in charge of volunteer works or counsel about volunteer activities should be arranged.
Fourth, method for evaluating volunteer works should be improved.
This study shows that we should approach human nature education which is education's major goal through youth's volunteer works. Adolescents should be grown up to be responsible, care for other people and have sense of being part of community. Thus, this study suggest that we should fully understand youth volunteer works and support them.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 청소년 자원봉사활동에 관한 실태와 만족도를 파악하고 이에 따른 문제점을 발견하여 보다 나은 자원봉사활동의 활성화를 위한 연구 자료를 만드는데 연구의 목적과 필요성이 있다고 하겠다.
이상의 연구목적을 수행하기 위하여 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.
첫째, 청소년 자원봉사활동의 실태는 어떠한가?
둘째, 청소년들이 느끼는 자원봉사활동의 인식수준은 어떠한가?
셋째, 청소년 자원봉사활동의 만족수준은 어떠한가?
넷째, 청소년 자원봉사활동의 활성화방안은 무엇인가?
이 연구의 조사대상자는 서산시. 당진군에 거주하는 중. 고등학생 620명을 대상으로 조사 실시하였다. 조사대상자의 특성은 중학생 300명(남: 142명, 여: 158명), 고등학생 304명(남: 150명, 여: 154명)이었다.
본 연구에 사용한 조사도구는 본 연구자가 설문지를 구성하고 청소년자원봉사 전문가 2인과 청소년지도자 2인 및 지도교수의 자문을 얻어 안면타당도를 거쳐 다음과 같이 구성되었다. 자원봉사에 관한 일반적인 질문지, 자원봉사 만족도 질문지 및 자원봉사 활성화에 관한 질문지로 구성되었다. 설문조사기간은 2008년 10월 1일부터 10일까지 진행하였다.
본 연구의 자료 분석은 자원봉사의 일반사항을 알아보기 위하여 빈도분석 사용하였고, 자원봉사의 만족도 및 활성화를 분석하기 위하여 성별 및 학년 간의 t-검증(t-test) 및 차이검증(X2 )을 하였다.
이 연구의 주요한 결론은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 청소년자원봉사활동의 실태를 알아본 결과 자원봉사활동의 참여 동기는 상급학교 진학 및 취업에 도움이 된다라고 나타났다.
둘째, 청소년자원봉사활동의 인식은 자원봉사활동이 자기희생을 통해 주변 이웃을 돕는 일이라고 답하였다.
셋째, 자원봉사활동의 만족도는 새로운 경험과 새롭게 배울 수 있는 기회가 되었다. 그리고 다른 사람에게 관심과 배려를 보일 수 있는 기회가 되었다.
이 연구의 제언은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 학교교육과정에 자원봉사활동의 내용을 포함하되 반드시 인성교육의 내용이 편성되어야 한다.
둘째, 다양한 자원봉사 프로그램이 개발되어야 한다.
셋째, 봉사활동 전담교사나 봉사활동과 관련된 문제를 상담할 수 있는 전문교사가 배치되어야 한다.
넷째, 봉사활동 평가방법이 개선되어야 한다.
이 연구의 시사점은 청소년자원봉사활동을 통하여 인성교육이라는 교육의 근본적인 목표에 더욱 접근하여야 한다. 아울러 청소년들은 그 행동에 책임을 질 수 있으며 항상 나보나 남을 배려하고 공동체 의식이 투철한 우리사회에 필요한 인간으로 길러줄 수 있도록 하여야 할 것이다. 따라서 청소년자원봉사활동을 진지하게 이해하고 지도하고 지지해주는 전반적인 사회분위기가 조성돼야 한다는 시사점을 얻었다
