This study was to investigate the relationship between the level of inferiority and the disposition of interpersonal relation of elementary school students. To examine the purpose of this study, the following research questions were established;
First, are there any differences in the level of inferiority between female and male students?
Second, are there any differences in general interpersonal disposition between female and male students?
Third, are there two variables, inferiority and interpersonal disposition, related to each other for both sexs?
The subjects of this study were selected 215 sophomores at a elementary school in Suwon city. consisting of 95 female and 120 male students. The instruments used were the Level of Inferiority Scale and the Interpersonal Relation Disposition Scale. The collected data were analyzed by using t-test with SAS statistical Program.
The major findings of this study were as follows;
First, there was found that students had relatively higher inferiority about their academic work than about others. More specitfically female students had higher inferiority about academic work and social characteristics than male students
Second, there was significant differences between female and male showing that were more ostensible-narcissistic, rebellious-distrustful.
Third, there was that all of the four sub-scales (physical appearance-related, social characteristics-related, family-related, academic work-related) f inferiority were strongly associated with interpersonal disposition of dominance-superiority.
