The purpose of the current study was to examine the influence of solution-Focused group art therapy program on stress copying ability and social problem solving ability of vacational trainees.
For subjects of the study, participants were collected among vocational trainees of H Company in U Metropolitan City. A total of 20 participants were divided into an experimental group of 10 persons and a control group of 10 persons according to selection criteria.
For experimental treatment of the current study, solution-focused group art therapy programs were conducted for the experimental group a total of 10 times for 120 minutes, once a week from July 2008 to September 2008. A research tool was The Way of Coping Checklist developed by Folkman & Lazarus(1984). And sor social problem solving ability, SPSI(Social Problem Solving Inventory) questionnaire developed by D'Zurilla and Nezu(1990), and adapted by Kim Yeong-mi(1992) was used. Data analysis was statistically processed using SPSS for window 14.0, and average standard deviation for test score before and after the test were calculated by group and Analysis of variance(ANOVA) was performed in order to examine treatment effect of the art therapy programs.
The following are study results.
First of all, solution-focused group art therapy programs improved stress coping ability of vocational trainees.
Secondly, solution-focused group art therapy programs improved social problem solving ability of vocational trainees.
That is, it was found that solution-focused group art therapy programs have positive influence on stress coping ability and social problem solving ability of vocational trainees. Therefore, it is deemed that solution-focused group art therapy programs are effective methods for stress coping ability of vocational trainees.
