The purpose of this research is to make an in-depth inquiry into the characteristic of physically-impaired tennis players'[hereinafter, PITP] exercise and living in terms of a social context through a culture-technical method. The substantial research matter for this purpose is; first, what is the exercise characteristic of a physically-impaired tennis player? and, second, what's the characteristic of their living? To inquire into research matters, this research adopted a culture-technical method and for data-collecting purpose, it obtained the proper data through an in-depth interview with the tennis players with physical disabilities selected by random[nomadic??] characteristic sampling process. As a result of such a research method and procedures, there comes out a conclusion as follows:
First, the PITP's characteristic of exercise participation was found to lie in the fact that they began exercise by others' encouragement and their fascination with the tennis event. In addition, the reason for their continuance of a tennis event is that they want to enjoy a healthy living. However, as a result of finding out some obstacles to their pursuit of tennis exercise. it was found that there need to be the government's political change-that is, change in welfare or economy, a change in others' gaze surrounding PITP, change in environment where they can properly take exercise, and sporting competition or games for them; in addition, there comes out a change in all gazes distinguishing the disabled from the non-disabled as a restrictive part, but if a new change in such a restrictive part should be achieved, that would be rather the most important factor in enlivening sports for the disabled.
Second, it was found out that tennis is establishing itself as an important factor in inducing the disabled tennis players into a positive attitude towards their living in the characteristics through tennis exercise. Further, they are clearly setting their goals of living as well and ardently immersed into their desired goals. However, to sum up the contents of their request, we can see they are demanding a new awareness and change on the part of the government or local autonomous entity, which fact suggests that there need to be an economic assistance and expansion of facilities through the changes in the perspective of the authorities concerned, and assignment of the right person in the right place by throwing up a great leader from the disabled.
