The purpose of this study is to recognize the importance of service quality of golf sport ranges and seek solutions to increase the customers of golf practice ranges through an empirical study which verifies the effect of service quality of golf practices ranges on consumer choices. To achieve this purpose, the objects of the study were selected among the customers of A, B and C indoor golf practice ranges in Gangnam-Gu, Seoul and 296 questionnaires were used for final analysis among 315 questionnaires which were collected by simple random sampling. To analyze the data, SPSS 14.0 statistics program was used and descriptive analysis, reliability test, validity analysis, t-test and one-way ANOVA were performed. The study results are as follows.
First, regarding the differences of service quality according to demographic characteristics of customers of golf practice ranges, there are significant differences in promotion factor according to sex(p<.05), there are significant differences in service factor according to age(p<.05) and there are significant differences in use fee factor, instructor factor, the accessibility factor of golf practice ranges, service factor and promotion factor according to job(p<.05). There are significant differences in promotion factor according to family's average monthly income(p<.05), there are significant differences in facilities factor, promotion factor and general service quality according to golf experiences(p<.05) and there are significant differences in use fee factor and instructor factor according to scoring average(p<.05).
Second, regarding the correlation between the service quality of golf practice ranges and customer choices, there is a positive correlation between facilities factor, use fee factor, accessibility factor, service factor, promotion factor and the general service quality of golf practice ranges(except instructor) factor and customer choices and persuasion(p<.01).
Third, regarding the effects of service quality of golf practice ranges on customer choices, there is no significant difference in instructor factor and accessibility factor(p>.05), but there are significant differences in use fee factor, facilities factor, promotion factor and service factor(p<.05). Regarding facilities factor, there are significant differences in the cleanness of golf practice ranges, the convenience of use, lighting installation and appropriate brightness(p<.05). Regarding use fee factor, there are significant differences in the use fee of subsidiary facilities and lesson fee(p<.05). Regarding accessibility factor, there are significant differences in close distance, wide parking space and the convenience(p<0.05). Regarding promotion factor, there are significant differences in the provision of various events and a discount on use fee(p<.05).
In conclusion, because of rapid increase of golf practice ranges, the competition has been intensifying and users are requesting the high quality service quality more and more than before. Therefore, when the golf practice ranges provide high quality service, the users of golf practice ranges will increase and the facilities will become a beloved sport facility for users.
Thus, the service quality of golf practice ranges is an important factor for customer choices, so the survey of wide area, interview method along with questionnaire method, precise sampling, multiple approaches for service quality and cross-sectional studies on impulse buying are needed.
