    The purpose of this study is to analyse the effects of yoga training on physical fitness and cardiovascular disease risk factors in middle aged women. The subjects are consisted of two groups: the first is experimental(with yoga exercise training) group(n=11) and the seis control(with no yoga training) group(n=9). The results of twelve week yoga training program are as follows;
    In body composition, fat mass, % body fat, and WHR show significant decrease in the experimental group (p<.01). However, we find no significant differences on body weight and lean body mass between the yoga exercise group and the no-yoga exercise control group.
    In blood, total cholesterol(TC), triglicelide(TG), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) show slight but significant increase in yoga exercise group(p<.05). And high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) shows significant increase in yoga exercise group(p<.001). However, we find no significant difference in GOT, GPT, r-GPT and glucose between two groups.
    In health-related physical fitness, flexibility and balance show significant increase in yoga exercise group(p<.001). And cardiopulmonary endurance shows slight but significant increase in yoga exercise group(p<.01). However, we find no significant difference in blood pressure, capacity of breathing, muscular strength, and muscular endurance between two groups.
    In conclusion, this study reveals that yoga training helps the study group become more aware of theirs body compositions, reduces cardiovascular disease risk factors in blood, and increase their physical fitness abilities. Ultimately, this study shows regular yoga training will result in better health.
