    In 1885, Western Music came into Korea with Christianity. Schools and hospitals were built by missionaries. They found Bae-jae and I-hwa academy, and made music class that named ‘Chang-ga’. They used hymn as music a class material. Based on those background, 7th education curriculum has changed. Music course also has many changes. Even though music course still remains as tedious course. Because of high intensive college entrance exam, students do not have a interest about music course. However, an adolescent period needs to improve both sensitivity and humanity. Today, most of students have more interest in popular music, OST, musical music than textbook music. Combine those genres with textbook music, students can have more interest in music.

    This thesis focused on a way to combine OST with textbook for use as class material. Now, few OST are listed on textbook, but the lists are increasing. This study wants to show effectiveness of OST ‘Lion King’ as a music study material by four types. Music course need to change the teaching way. Without improvement of music class, students will never have interest. Thus, music course need to introduce attractive music, so the study and research about music course have to continue then, students could have interest in school music course.

    In 1885, Western Music came into Korea with Christianity. Schools and hospitals were built by missionaries. They found Bae-jae and I-hwa academy, and made music class that named ‘Chang-ga’. They used hymn as music a class material. Based on those background, 7th education curriculum has changed. Music course also has many changes.
