The development of Mobile communication service caused video mobile phone which could have face-to-face communication beyond text or voice focused communication style. It means that mobile communication service has changed 'listen-talk' communication to 'watch-talk' communication style. This kind of human-medium-human communication environment, Mobile communication service has strong effect to other services. Also, not just only for applications but for interpersonal communications, it might strengthen the human relationship.
This study is based on 'Technology Acceptance Model' theory for recovering what kinds of factor caused someone to choose mobile communication service, also 'Interactivity' factor was implicated importantly because it has some similarities to face-to-face communication style. The factors which influence 'Interactivity' are 'media characteristics', 'user traits', 'communication context', and for media characteristics, 'perceived media richness', 'perceived affordance', 'perceived social presence' were mainly used. For user characteristics, 'media affinity', 'self-efficacy', 'unwillingness to communication' were found, 'network externalities' concept was derived as an context factor.
According to the results, 'perceived media richness', 'perceived affordance', 'perceived social presence' positively affected 'perceived interactivity'. In other words, 'perception' of the media characteristics was precisely important overall. It demonstrated that technical advance for information delivery, user-focused interface, inter-connection are the advantages which voice mobile phones do not have. Video mobile phones could strengthen the relationship among people more deeply and firmly with those reason.
Also, related user characteristics and condition, 'media affinity' and 'self-efficacy' positively affected 'perceived interactivity', while as, 'unwillingness to communication' was not significantly effected. People who have self-efficacy for using video mobile phone also can control communication flow and recognize 'synchronism' when they use, and it is closely similar to normal voice mobile phone communication. However. I assumed if people are not willing to who themselves instantly, they would not want to use video mobile phone.
As a context factor, 'network externalities' have positive influence 'perceived interactivity'. If they feel that a lot of people like to use video mobile phones and this trend might be consistent, they would follow the trend because they realize video mobile phones could be very useful and valuable.
'Perceived interactivity' has positively affected video mobile phone usage. I discovered that 'media characteristics', 'user characteristics', 'context factor' are significant elements which affect 'interactivity', and it also could affect the perception about 'usefulness' and 'ease of use' concepts.
Overall, this study was to implicate not only technical interactivity such as control, responsibility, also individual factors such as interpersonal inter- activity. Also, with user's point of view, we could find how people perceive and interact 'media interactivity'.
