This study aims to prove the relationship between players’ satisfaction and coaches’ type coaching behavior to provide an efficient basic data for coaching soccer players. Therefore, through the analysis and discussion, the study derived a conclusion as follows.
First, given the different demographic characteristics, there is a difference in types of coaching behaviors of soccer coaches. For the types of coaching behaviors in different ages, the data displays that the players under age of 20 perceive more highly the training and directional behavior, social behavior and positive compensation behavior. For the types of coaching behaviors in gender, female players appeared to have higher perception on democratic behavior. For the types of coaching behaviors for different length of coaching experience, there were significant differences on training and directional behavior, social support behavior and positive compensation behavior.
Second, there is a difference in players’ satisfaction in accordance with demographic characteristics. There was no significant difference observed between different ages, and female players appeared to have higher satisfaction on game satisfaction, position satisfaction than male players, and there were significant differences observed on game satisfaction and position satisfaction for different lengths of coaching experience.
Third, there was a correlation observed between players’ satisfaction and types of coaches’ coaching behavior. For the correlation between coaching behaviors types and players’ satisfaction, the data displays that there is a significant positive (+) correlation between variables such as training and directional behavior, democratic behavior, social support behavior and positive compensation behaviors and those subordinate variables such as game satisfaction, position satisfaction and regimentation satisfaction while authoritarian behavior has a negative (-) correlation with the subordinate variables.
At the same time, in the result of multiple regression analysis to examine the degree of effects of coaching behavior types on players’ satisfaction, the positive compensation behavior appeared to be the highest.
