대학 평생교육의 현황과 발전방안 = A Study on the Current State of Lifelong Education in Universities and Suggestions for Their Future Development Plan

In 21century, the Knowledge- Based Society is the lifelong education society which is needed the continuous learning for self-development. Hence the universities have to offer the various opportunity that can satisfy the needs of learners for adult learning as the lifelong education institution. So the purpose of this study is satisfying the learner's needs for education through managing efficiently the lifelong education in universities and offering the opportunities for learning by the investigation of current states and problems of lifelong education in universities and the thinking for their future development plan.
To achieve this purpose of study, review the results of advanced studies and refer to sundry records : the theory of lifelong education in universities and current states of management and programs in universities' lifelong education system. Also, the suggestions for development plan is derived by SWOT analysis for stong points and weak points of lifelong education in universities and the facts of opportunities and threats.
The ways of experiment are collecting and analyzing the researches and sundry records related in lifelong education in universities.
The result s are as follows :
First, In the university recognition of lifelong education have to be changed. It means the people who related in university know the impotance of lifelong education as much as instruction and research which is essential function of university.
Second, the programs of lifelong education should satisfy the needs of various group of adult learners not only special class. Also, management of program time should assure variously as the leaner's traits to incite the adult learner's positive participation.
Third, the efficiency of education should be improved through developing the method of instruction-learning which is considerable the learner's trait.
Fourth, the lifelong education in universities is needed to specialize. Almost universities manage the program which is not suitable standard of university and similar with other universities. Hence They needs to develop and offer the programs which is suitable and specialized in each university.
Fifth, financial support is needed for adult learners to study cheap price. Specially, they consider the low-income group. And it would bring the withdrawal the educational inequality.
Sixth, institutional support is strengthened for the various certification the credit system which has the public trust.
Seventh, lifelong education in universities should be the role of informer by being builded connection infrastructure between the center of local community and university to design their own learning style.
