중학생의 스포츠 참여가 사회성에 미치는 영향 = (The)influence of sport participation of middle school students on social behavior

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중학생의 체육환경이 사회성에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위하여, 중학생의 스포츠 참가자의 개인종목과 단체종목으로 나누어 사회성의 상관관계를 규명하고 활용을 하여 현재 중학생의 스포츠가 처해있는 교육적 환경과 내적가치를 재조명하고 일선 교육현장에서의 기초자료와 스포츠의 재평가를 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 첫째, 성별에 따른 사회성 발달의 차이, 둘째, 학년에 따른 사회성 발달의 차이를 알아본다. 셋째, 스포츠 참여정도(기간, 빈도, 강도)에 사회성의 발달의 차이를 알아본다. 넷째, 중학생 스포츠 참가형태에 따른 사회성발달의 차이 등을 분석을 하였다.
본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 2008년도 현재 경기도 안양시, 성남시 소재하는 중학생 2곳의 남녀 학생을 모집단으로 설정하여 유층집락 무선 표집법(stratified cluster random sampling)을 이용하여 총 215명을 표본으로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 중학생의 체육환경이 사회성에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위하여 자료수집도구로 설문지를 사용을 하였으며, 사회성 발달에 대한 측정을 알아보기 위해 정범모(1971)에 타당도와 신뢰도가 검증되고 표준화된 설문지를 사용을 하였으며, 스포츠 참여가 사회성에 미치는 영향을 측정하기 위해 임번장(1986)의 설문지를 기초자료로 하였으며, 안양시 소재 남, 녀 중학생110명을 대상으로 예비조사를 실시한 후 적용가능성을 검토하고, 설문지를 수정, 보완하여 재구성을 하였다. 자료처리는 사회성발달의 차이를 알아보기 위하여 독립T검증과 일원변량분석(one way-anova)를 실시하였으며, 변량분석의 차이가 있을 경우 사후검증(Duncan' post hock-test)방법을 사용하여 분석을 하였다.
이상의 연구방법과 절차를 통하여 체육환경이 사회성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구가설을 연구한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다.

첫째, 성별에 따른 사회성 차이를 알아보면 전체적인 사회성 발달, 활동성, 안정성, 지배성에 있어서는 남학생이 여학생보다 다소 높게 나타났으나, 안전성 사교성에 있어서는 여학생이 남학보다 다소 높게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 남학생이 여학생보다 여러 가지 스포츠 활동이 많은 반면 여학생은 한 가지 종목을 오랫동안 하는 성향으로 해석을 할 수 있다.

둘째, 학년에 따른 사회성 차이를 살펴보면 전체적인 사회성 발달에 있어 1학년이 다소 높게 나타났으며, 안정성, 사교성, 자율성에 있어서도 1학년이 2, 3학년 학생보다 더 높게 나타났다.
이는 고학년이 될수록 스포츠 활동에 있어서 제약이 많아짐에 따라 저 학년이 좀 더 자율적인 것으로 나타나는 것으로 판단된다.

셋째, 스포츠 참여기간에 따른 사회성의 차이를 살펴본 결과 전체적인 사회성 발달은 참여기간이 길수록 사회성 발달에 긍정적 영향이 높게 나타났으며, 오랜 시간 스포츠 참여함으로써 사회의 규칙 및 사교성 등 등 사회전반에 두루 영향을 미친다고 할 수 있다.

넷째, 스포츠 참여빈도에 따른 사회성 차이를 살펴본 결과 전체 사회성 발달에 있어서 7회 참여자가 가장 높게 나타났고, 이는 꾸준히 스포츠에 참여함으로써 사회성 도움을 주는 것으로 해석될 수 있다.

다섯째, 스포츠 강도에 따른 사회성 차이를 살펴본 결과 사회성 하위영역인 안정성, 지배성, 사교성, 자율성에 있어서 3시간 이상 참여자가 가장 점수가 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 활동성에 있어서는 2-3시간 참여자가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

여섯째, 중학생의 스포츠 참가형태에 따른 사회성 차이를 살펴본 결과 단체종목 참여자가 개인종목 참여자보다 전체적인 사회성 발달정도가 더 높게 나타났으며, 사회성 발달의 하위영역인 활동성, 안정성, 지배성, 사교성, 자율성에 있어서 단체종목 참여자가 개인종목 참여자보다 다소 높게 나타났다. 이는 단체종목 참여자가 스포츠 활동을 하며 협동성과 사교성 등을 교우와 접하는 시간이 더 많음으로 그 결과 사회성 발달에 도움이 외는 것으로 해석된다.
