The field of corporate sustainability activities has grown exponentially in the last decade. Neverthless, there remains a protected debate about the legitimacy and value of corporate responses to corporate sustainability activities. In studies of businees innovaton, sustainability activities consist of environment management, ethics management and social resposibility of corporation.
Using extensive data over a period of seven years, this study explores and tests the degree of the relationship between corporate sustainability activities and financial performance. This study estimates the effect of sustainability activities on performance and stock return.
The result of the environment management indicates that long-term performance is statistically significant. On the other hand, the results of ethics management and social response of corporate indicate that the performance is immediately reflected in the first year.
